Johnny Anderson was only 11 years when he ran away from home to enlisted into the army. He was to young to participate in combat, so they made him a drummer boy of their regiment.

In his first battle Johnny was exposed to gruesome sights. He couldn't help but think of the sorrow the parished soldier's families will feel when they here the news.
