BABAUŠIS - BEAST.

Vaikai,neikit nakty laukan – babaušis pagaus!
Kids, don't go outside at night or the beast will catch you!
Nebūsiu viena, bijau babaušio.
I won't be alone, I'm afraid of the beast.
Babaušiai lenda į kertes kai temsta.
The beasts gets into the corners - it gets dark.

BAUBAS - BABAY - a beast, ghost that scares children.
Kūdiki, neik, baubas už durų.
Baby, don't go outside, babay (beast) is at the door.
Baubai į kampus lenda - kai temsta.
Babay (beast) gets into corners ( getting dark).
Vaikučiai, jau baubai į kampus lenda, reik gulti.
Kids, the babay (the beast) is already getting into corners, you need to go to sleep ( you need to lie down).
Baubu vadinama ir rugių dvasia, slypinti paskutiniame pradalgyje.
This beast is also called the spirit of rye, hidden in the last swath (a section of meadow or crops is being mowed).
