Tongue Booger & the Garbage Bozo

He got rolled and squished, and squished and rolled, but no matter what he was determined to hold. 

A booming voice from a giant at the door said “Hey! that doesn’t go on your tongue, boogers go in the garbage, bozo. 

A digging finger knocked him free, he was shocked and happy— “Finally, finally it’s happening to me!”

For the most part, he enjoyed a life of hanging out and listening to the whistle of air rushing past.

“I could be angry, I could be sad, I could waste my time judging all these people to be bad. But I’m not a tongue booger and I don’t make kids sick, I belong in the garbage bozo, all I need is one flick. I’m not going to sit here if there are things I can do.” With this kind of attitude, he just might pull through!

“Oh great green goobers, What’s happening now? What could be next?”

One day, while he was exercising, everything went dark. The walls began to shake.

To jump toward a gaping throat seemed surely insane, but that was just our booger friend creatively using his brain.

“Finally at last the garbage bozo!  I did it!  I win!”

He’d done well so far in focusing his efforts on what was up to him, but even so, things inside were turning grim. He was close to exhaustion, getting weaker and weaker; the roiling and churning made things seem bleeker. He thought he caught a break getting stuck on the roof, but then he fell off and got stuck on a tooth. 

All his friends... Clingy &amp; Flingy &amp; Coaty &amp; Cappy &amp; Flappy &amp; Bob...had been picked.

But then as the giant mommy walked away, it went from night to day and our friend Mr.Booger found himself in a very bad way. 

“I’m plucked! There’s no time to lose!” So he grabbed the finger as tight as he could determined as ever he wouldn’t let loose!

He made it out and was hanging on and safe, but now there was another problem: a giant was in his face!

Once upon a time in a deep, moist cave, an up and coming booger was just being born.

“Oh, wait,” he thought next, “How am I going to get in?”

His strength to hold on was beaten, and our poor little friend got eaten.

He squeezed to hold on, causing quivers, shakes and shudders...

He thought to himself while wedged in the crack, “I’ll make it to the garbage bozo and I’ll never come back.  Why did he eat me? There’s no point in knowing, I need to stop worrying about what happened and find a way to get going. Rather than get me down, I’ll flip the problem around. And what once held me will be what propels me.”

“I’ve got one thing left that’s totally up to me— get out of this mess with my creativity!”

Underneath his tough outside, he was worried of being stuck in here forever. Would he ever get picked?

“That booger she’s talking about, that booger is me!  And the garbage bozo is the place I’m supposed to be!  Now that I see things from a new perspective—I know it’s my chance to find my real place!  I’ve just got to hold on, this isn’t something I can’t face!”

I’ve made a decision to get to the top; once I am determined I will not stop. I’ll leave all the judging to the ornery and old; no matter what happens I’ll turn it to gold. I’ll move with great speed when it’s time to move fast; and I’ll live in the present as long as it lasts. More than anything else I need to keep my emotions in check; I can handle anything if I’m not an emotional wreck. There’s ways we can see and there’s ways to be blind, and ways to be miserable one can always find. But if there is one thing that’s true and quickly corrective, it’s the power you give yourself by choosing to change your perspective.

He was determined to be the best booger he could be.

Barely able to jump, out of energy sugar He reached out as far as he could and screamed, “I am not a tongue booger!”

More than anything, he dreamed of seeing beyond the cave. He didn’t know how he’d get there, but he was determined and stuck to his decision to work hard to get picked. No matter how hard it got, he showed grit, sticktoitiveness and guts and stretched himself to his limits. 

He spent his time swinging branch to branch, getting bigger and bigger, stretching out. 

There was no time to lose, he had to think fast; he thought of his training and ideas past. He thought of the boogers in history books, last seen on tongues and in molar nooks. He remembered the words of those who’d survived: “You’ll never swallow us!”

Then he leaped, and he yelled- “To the epiglottis!”
