Regrouping is the process of making groups of tens when adding or subtracting two digit numbers (or more) and is another name for carrying and borrowing.


First place one two digit number at the top (35) and the second two two digit number ( 47) at the bottom.

Always start by adding your ones column first. So because 5+7=12 you will drop the 2 and carry the 1 from the 12. So next you will ad 1+3+4 which equals 8. You will drop the 8 in front of the 2. Your answer is 82.
Double check your work. It's important to always look over your work to make sure you have the correct answer
