Welcome back to our Jungle beat! I hope you are enjoying making your jungle instruments and singing the songs. Well this time we are going to play all three of our instruments to a really fun song. We are also going to learn about the percussion family and how we can use our body as a percussion instrument.

First I guess we should sing a song. Which one would you like to sing? Let's try a new one called "What Are You Wearing."
Just click the video to hear our new color song
What did you think of this new color song? How many colors were you wearing?
Are you ready to see what we are going to do next? First you can watch this fun video of a song I think you will know. Just click on the video and listen to this song.
Just click on the video and play along with me.
Did you know that song? Well now it is time to get out your three instruments that you made. You will need your shaker, your drum and the rainstick. We are going to sing this song and play our instruments. You can watch me and then we can try it together.
All of the instruments we have made belong to a family of the orchestra. Do you know which family the shaker, the drum and the rainstick belong to? Let's see if we can figure this out together. All of our instruments can be played by shaking them, hitting them and tapping them. Do you think they belong to the string family? No, not the string family. What about the woodwind family? Did you blow air through the instruments you made? No, not the woodwind family. If you said the percussion family, you were right! An instrument that can be played by tapping, striking, shaking, or hitting belongs to the percussion family. Can you name some instruments that we used in school that belong to the percussion family?
Now that you know what a percussion instrument is, did you know that your body is a percussion instrument? Let's watch this video and you will see how they are using their bodies as percussion instruments.
What did you think of that video? They used their hands and feet to create a rainstorm. They were the percussion instruments. Why don't we try to make our own rainstorm together?
Click on my video and we will make a rainstorm together by using our bodies as percussion instruments. Please have your rainstick ready to use at the end of our rainstorm.
