Kitchen Music

Hello and welcome back to our music time together! We are going to try something different today. I am so excited to have you try this with me! You will need some kitchen bowls and water to make our instrument today. We are going to call this book our "Kitchen Music book." First let’s sing a new song. We are going to try a song called "I'm So Happy." There are lots of motions to this song, so stand up and sing along!

Well are you ready to see what we are going to do today? Did you know that you can make music in your kitchen? Let's try it! Get a plastic bowl and a big wooden spoon and bang on the bottom of the bowl. Does it remind you of an instrument? If you said a drum, you are right! Now take 2 spoons and see what kind of sound they make when you hit them together. What kind of instrument does that sound like? Well, now we are going to try making water drums. Are you ready? I hope you had fun with your water drums. Did you hear different sounds with the different plastic containers you used?
Well now we are going to use some other kitchen items for our instruments. First we need to think about the instruments we play in school. Remember the rhythm sticks, the triangles and the drums? Well we're going to find some kitchen items that sound just like those instruments. Just click on my video and we can get started on our next activity for kitchen music!
