Science Week 2022

In Year 6, they had an excellent debate! They thought carefully about how they would conduct their investigation and wrote this up carefully, like proper scientists! They presented their data in a scatter graph, attempting to draw a line of best fit.

In Year 5, children had a great discussion about their predictions and certain factors that might have an impact on the results. They repeated their jumps a few times and plotted their results on a scatter graph.

In Year 1, children wrote down their predictions for what they thought might happen. Children measured each other's heights and plotted this in a table. They decided on how they would measure their jumps and thought carefully about how they would keep it fair.

In Year 2, children thought carefully about this investigation and about how they would keep it a fair test. They came up with some rules for everyone to follow. They measured their legs and their jumps in centimetres using a metre stick. After the investigation, they presented their results in block diagrams.

In Reception, children talked about what they thought would happen in their investigation. They ordered themselves based on who in their group was the tallest. They used blocks to measure how far each person had jumped.

In Year 3, children wrote their own predictions about what they thought might happen. They also wrote a method, explaining what they would need to do to keep the investigation fair. They presented their results in a pictogram.

In Year 4, children also wrote up a method and carefully explained what needed to stay the same in the investigation to keep it a fair test. They repeated their jumps a few times, to improve the reliability of their results. They presented their results in a bar chart.
