MAKING ELECTRICITY WITH OUR TRASH

The project we are talking about today is the one called “Making electricity with trash”, this project is such a good thing for the environment, economy and people because it’s easier, faster, and cheaper than the normal electricity process, it’s a better opportunity for our planet because if we use our trash as our main or secondary energy source the planet will be pleased with us because contamination will be less of a problem and a lot of our problems will be gone. I also think we should implement this method of getting energy because people could get together and try and get a lot of our trash to save our city, state, country and planet from contamination.

In Sinaloa we make a lot of trash if we want to be more specific we make 3,000 tons a day, which if you didn’t know is a lot just imagine a week in Sinaloa 21,000 tons of trash and that’s only Sinaloa were there’s a lot of people but not that many, now imagine a city like CDMX in which there’s at least 8.5 million people, they make 13,000 tons of trash per day which is sufficient to fill up the Zocalo which is very big obviously just imagine that much of trash just in that city of a big country and now imagine that country of a big world so we know that there’s a lot of trash in the world why not using it well countries like Sweden are already doing it and we should too.

THIS IS OUR PURPOSE

The purpose of using trash to create energy is because in that way we help the environment by reusing the waste we throw away every day, that help us all in getting less contamination.

The purpose to this invent to convert trash in energy is to help the world, and people, because using garbage to create energy we reduce pollution in the city and help our environment.

START

First we get the materials: Flamethrower, metal plate, trash and a tube.

Put the metal plate in a regular surface (we are using a metal plate so it won’t burn/destroyed easily).

Turn the flamethrower on

The trash will create methane gas (CH4) and it will go in the tube and then it will create energy by giving heat to the machine.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

This flow chart shows first, the material that we use which is a tube, a flamethrower, trash, and a plate. We will put the metal plate in a regular surface so it won’t fall when we use the flamethrower (we also need to do it far from our city so people won’t smell anything), next we will put the trash on top of the metal plate and turn on the flamethrower, after that trash will produce methane gas (CH4) which will rise up on the tube and generate heat which will create electricity.

WAYS TO IMPLEMENT THIS IN OUR CITY

A way to implement our invention in Culiacán is a place in the trash truck where the machine converts garbage into energy and every time they grab an organic trash bag they put it on the machine and it does its job to turn trash into energy. Since there is no more storage for energy in the garbage truck, it must release space in a specific place so the trash trunk might continue working.

Tips for sorting, collecting or acquiring waste for this process. (As a citizen, what would I have to do?)

You could name each type of garbage, divided between plastic (inorganic) and organic. A better way to help the environment is picking up all the trash that people throw on the street.

Another idea is organize a garbage party with your neighbors, each day we can separate different type of garbage, create programs to inform citizens about how the city could improve.
Schools should explain what are the consequences of global warming, the differences between recycling, reducing and reusing and most important to respect public places.

DID YOU KNOW THAT?

Did you know that 100 million marine animals die each year from trash? And with our new method of using our trash as our energy source we could save tons of them, we could reduce the number in such an amazing way. Imagine just one country used it as their main source of electricity, just because one of them used, it would make a lot of reduction for example in Mexico they’re 102 million tons of trash, Mexico is only one country of all the 195 countries of the world and just that would make such a good difference.

VISION OF THE FUTURE WITH THIS INVENTION

There will be much less waste or pollution coming from our city, also since the rest of the trash will be turned into organic waste and can be used for plants, our state is known for agriculture, this could help our state’s economy in a massive way and also potentially help homeless people that have nothing to eat since we could generate so much more. So why shouldn't we start as soon as we can. I mean, it’d benefit all of us. This is probably one of the best ideas someone could do.

Bioenergy: In what biodegradable energy is similar to Horse® (High-solids Organic-waste Recycling System with Electrical Output) that it allows you to obtain fertilizer.
Wind power: how wind energy is similar to Horse® is that it produces energy. Wind energy produces energy by moving 3 very large propellers, is normally used in isolated places of electricity such as towns and farms.
