Everyday day you turn on one of these it is because of Thomas Edison, he invited the light bulb! The light bulb was one of his biggest inventions.
He grew up in New Jersey with is parents. He started out working on inventions in his room until he had an accident and his Mom made him relocate to the basement. He always found a place to work on his inventions.
Thomas had several inventions, the phonograph, the motion picture camera, and electric power generation, which he is most famous for.
These are two of Thoma's inventions, the battery and the light bulb. Think of all the things you use that need batteries and what your like would be like without light. "Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time."
This was his 1st lab, which was the world's first research and development lab. He called his lab, Menlo Park laboratory. This is the lab he invented the light bulb and the phonograph, which is our modern day MP3 player!
