In the wild the common gray fox eats berries, small rodents, and grasses. They like their food alive so feed them live food (if it is an animal). They also eat berries, razberry's, strawberrys, and apples.

While in the rescue center the gray fox can eat the following foods.
You can get the following foods from a grocery store:
#1 Apples
#2 Grapes
#3 Nuts
You can get the following from a pet store:
#1 Rodents (Mice, Rabbits, .etc.)

In the wild the the gray fox lives in wooded areas near trees. And in grasslands.

Habitat

The habitat at the rescue center needs to have the following things in it:
#1 Trees
#2 Rocks
#3 An area to hide
#4 Grass

My animal likes to hide.
They can get stressed out if they cant burrow in a safe unseen place. Make sure to not let any other animals in the habitat.

Warning!

Make sure to be safe when your in the gray foxes habitat. They are not the type of domestic animals like cats or dogs. They like to be alone, away from people. Do not try to hold, or tame them. The Gray Fox likes to hide. If you take it out of its hiding place it will get stressed out and may bite. Also wear gloves so if that does happen you will not hurt as much.
When setting up the habitat DO NOT PUT TREES NEAR FENCES! Gray foxes love to climb trees and an easily jump over it if the fence is close enough.

If the Gray Fox is startled it might bite, yap, or run.

The gray fox is one of those animals you might confuse with others. You can tell the difference between a coyote and a gray fox because of their body shape. The coyote has a body shape like a wolf, as the gray fox is short and has a very bushy tail. The arctic fox and the gray fox are also similar but not the same, an arctic fox is a little bit bigger than a gray fox, and has a snowy white coat. The gray fox has a lot of similarities to the arctic foxes summer coat though, in the summer the arctic foxes coat is a light gray pretty close to the color of the gray fox, but they have no red anywhere on their bodies.
