The National Anthem of France is "La Marseillaise".It was named after the people of Marseillle. Rap Marseille is a French hip-hop genre that originated in the city of Marseille. The city is also proud of its football club "Olympique de Marseille".

Angers, Le Mont-Saint-Michel

Angers is the capital of the historic province of Anjou. The fact that it is a university city gives it a youthfulness that is reflected in the many street entertainers, festivals, and carnivals to enjoy. For culture, certainly visit the ancient 13th-century fortress. The ramparts hide a beautiful garden and chapel within the castle walls. A stroll through its cobbled streets, which wind through the Renaissance and Gothic quarters on the way to the market, is a walk through time that makes you begin to feel the charm of the place. Other notable buildings to visit include the twin-towered St. Moritz Cathedral (12th-13th century). Located on the imaginary border between Normandy and Brittany, Le Mont-Saint-Michel is one of the most important attractions of contemporary western France. The impressive Gothic monastery of Mont Saint-Michel is situated on an island surrounded by the sea at high tide. At low tide, the sea drops back up to 15 km (the difference between their levels is the largest in the world). At high tide, the water rushes back at an incredible speed (up to 15 km per hour). The long history associated with the Abbey of Mont Saint Michel dates back to 708. In that year it was Aubert, Bishop of Avranches, who was ordered to build a small sanctuary on the mountain after the Archangel Michael appeared to him. In 1979, the Mount Saint Michel was included on the Unesco World Heritage List. 

ANGERS Angers is a city in western France. It has a population of 154,508 inhabitants and it is the third most populous commune in northwestern France after Nantes and Rennnes. Economically speaking, Angers specialises in the plant sector, industry and tourism. Several universities and museums help in making the area culturally rich. Both inhabitants and tourists can visit interesting sights such as the Château d'Angers, the Maison d'Adam, the Angers Cathedral, the remains of abbeys or La Doutre,an old quarter which contains the former Abbaye du Ronceray and the Hôpital Saint-Jean.&nbsp;

Avignon is  the prefecture of Vaucluse department, in the south-east part of France.It is located on the left bank of the river Rhone and it is know as the City - State of Popes.Lots of ancient relics have been found there ,dated back to the stone Age.

Nice

Nice (or Nissa la Bella) is the 5th biggest city in France. Nice was founded around 350 B.C. by the Greeks of Marseille and was named after Nike, the goddess of victory. The city was declared a Unesco World Heritage site in 2021.The archaeological site of Terra Amata displays evidence of a very early use of fire.

It has sights such as museums, temples and an outdoor market.The Carnival of Nice is very important and famous.

Strasbourg is on the north-east part of France.It was a German city until 1918 but it is now French.It is divided into 14 districts .It is the seat of the European Parliament and the Council of Europe. The center of Strasbourg ( the Petite France disirict) was declared a Unesco world Heritage Site in 1988. Strasbourd has a rainway stasion that connects it to Paris and Brussels. The Council of Europe was founded in 1977 and the Palais de Europa is its Headquarters.On the side of the building we can see the flags of all the countries of the European Council.

Paris is the Capital of France. People : 11,277,000 Location : It's located in a basin in the north of France River Seine is 780 km long and it connects Paris with Burgundy and the English Channel. There are islands in the river like Ile De la cite. There are lakes such as Bassin de la Vinette (artificial lake), Lac se Minimes, Lac Inferieur is the largest and has an island that you can get to by boat. There are lots of forests. Paris hosted the Olympic Games in 1900. Ile de Cite is a small island on the Seine River in the centre of Paris.

Nowadays, the torch is ceremoniously lit in ancient Olympia, Greece, usually a few weeks before the start of the Olympics. Eleven women represent the priestesses. With the help of the sun's rays, they light the torch. The flame is then carried around the world in a relay fashion to the Games venue. The actual lighting of the giant torch in the stadium is entrusted to a prominent person (most often former athletes who have made their mark in the history of sport and the Olympic Games).

The Torch Relay is an amazing tradition that takes us back to the origins of the games. The first torch for the Paris 2024 Olympic Torch Relay will be lighted on the 16th of April 2024, according to ancient tradition, by the rays of the sun during a ceremony in the Temple of Olympia in Greece. From the Peloponnese, the Olympic flame will travel to Athens, where it will board the ship Belem and cross the Mediterranean Sea. On the 8th of May 2024, the Olympic Flame will begin its spectacular journey across France in Marseille.

The Paris 2024 Olympic Games promise a spectacular journey of the Olympic flame through major sites in France to the capital. This route, unveiled by Anne Hidalgo and Tony Estanguet, President of the Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games, at a special ceremony at the Musée Carnavalet on the 3rd of July 2023, promises a unique route for the Olympic flame to follow all the way to the capital, Paris.

The Olympic flame, also represented in the form of the Olympic torch, is one of the basic symbols of the Olympic Games. It is reminiscent of the fire that, according to legend, Prometheus stole from Zeus and gave to the people. The origin of this symbol comes from ancient Greece, where the fire was kept burning for the duration of the Games. This custom was revived at the 1928 Summer Olympics in Amsterdam. Since 1936, the Olympic torch relay, introduced by Carl Diem, has been part of the modern Olympic tradition and is not of ancient origin.
