My eyes open slowly, but I hear no sound. Why can I no longer hear the screams of a thousand people? What is happening to me? Why is it so quiet? I can no longer hear the loud clashing of metal or see the destruction of the Trebuchet. Is this a dream? Suddenly, I feel a severe pain coming from the front of my head.
I quickly realise, there is crimson blood pouring down my muddy cheeks and creating a small pool of blood on the floor. As I finally get to my feet, I wonder, have the army won or lost? I have no idea...
Life has changed a lot since King Arthur came into power. The joy, that once swept the village, is no more. Everyone, except the King, wakes up with no hope. King Cedric, who wants to take over from King Arthur, would like to set the villagers free. Cedric, who is from a different country, hates to see the villagers hurt or upset. Everyday, I wake up and work, work, work and work. When I walk to King Arthur’s castle to work, I pass a hill where Cedric is training knights and I can’t believe I’m not going to help him.
Without hesitation, I walk away. I think, “Why am I not helping him? I can’t believe myself!” That night, I pull myself together. Without thinking, I walk up to Cedric and ask, “Can I join your cause?”
A few days later, after hours and hours of training with the other knights, King Cedric approaches proudly. I just knew that this is the time that we have all been waiting for. He explains what to do and the knights agreed it was a good plan to kill King Arthur. What’s going to happen? Who’s going to win and be named as King? Am I going to live?
