Everything is closing down in the neighbourhood. Covid-19 is spreading very fast, and to help slow it down we need to stay inside. Closing down public places is a way to help reinforce this rule.

Lots of people want to find a way to help and make a difference. Some individuals have taken to creating supportive signs for others who are helping. This particular message is supporting healthcare workers who put there life on the line everyday.

Locals are painting rocks and placing them around the neighbourhood, to bring a little colour to our lives and send messages of hope.

Along with just painting colourful pictures on rocks people have also taken to writing uplifting words and messages. This one, for instance, is reminding us to smile even when things may seem hard.

In a time where we can’t visit with anyone, kids are coming up with creative ways to see each other. This is a photo of kids baking together using online video calls.

A family wanted to do something to bring the community together and share some beauty. They have created an art gallary for kids in their back alley. People can walk by and enjoy it and even add their own work.

7pm has become a time where people all over the world have gone outside and made noise to honour and celebrate frontline workers. This is the time when health care workers often end their shifts and people cheer them on to let them know how thankful we are that they are saving lives.

Hi, I’m Annie! I am a grade eight student at Seycove Secondary. I am in a special program called PLP, it stands for Performance Learning Program. We do lots more group projects, field studies and we work on an iPad! In my free time I like to listen to music, read, play sports, and hang out with my friends. Someday I want to travel all over the world and see something new everyday! One of my goals is to go star gazing in as many different places as I can.
