Ursula and Triton were different in many ways. Triton was very ambitious, and dreamed of the day that he would become the next king. Ursula was the second child, and was very isolated from the rest of the kingdom because of one major reason. While the rest of her family had beautiful, graceful tails, Ursula was born with eight tentacles. Once she was born, her parents shielded her from the world. She was not allowed to be seen by anyone.

The king was afraid that if the kingdom knew of Ursula's existence, they would deem her unfit to be royalty, and she would be forced out of her home. This meant that the young princess was forced to live a life of solitude. She only ever interacted with her brother, for her parents were ashamed of her. She was neglected and forgotten by everyone.

Ursula could feel all of their eyes on her as she looked around at them, wondering what would happen next. She could see the fear in their eyes, and could not believe that she was the cause of it. &nbsp; "Begone creature!" said a an angry looking merman, "there is no space in this town for monsters of your kind." &nbsp; Ursula was frozen in place. Fear took over, and she could not say or do anything. It was not until the crowd started moving towards her, that she came to her senses. Using a spell, she created a dark cloud that hide her from view, and she swam as fast as she could.

Once Upon a time, there lived a great king. This king had two children. One, a boy, was named Triton and the other, a girl, was named Ursula. This kingdom and its subjects all lived underwater. The citizens were all creatures of the ocean, also know as merpeople.

As she traveled towards town, the sun began to stream through the water, providing more and more light. When she finally got there, the morning sun had fully awoken. She swam through the empty streets, taking in her surroundings. She could hear the distance sounds of villagers, getting ready for the day.

She accidently swam right into a small mermaid, who took one look at her, and burst into tears. The surrounding villagers turned to look, and saw the young princess for the first time.&nbsp;

For many years Ursula hid in her cave, practicing the art of witchcraft and stealing the souls of the merpeople who wandered in, seeking her help. She waited patiently for her time of revenge, and it finally came with a certain red-haired mermaid who wanted to trade her tail for human legs.

Ursula had been swimming all night, and she could feel herself getting drowsy. Eventually she had to stop and rest. She located a quiet alley where she decided to take a quick nap. After a few minutes, she was awakened by the sounds of screaming. She opened her eyes to find an old merman standing a few feet away. She looked behind her to see what he was screaming at, but only saw an empty alley.&nbsp;

On the night before her brother's coronation, she packed up her books and spells and snuck out of her room. She swam down the dark hallways of the royal castle, until she reached the front gates. She used her magic to successfully pass through the solid castle doors, and swam out into the night. Her plan was to find a place to sleep in the village, and then hopefully learn how to live as a normal merperson would.

After 18 years of being a prisoner in her own home, Ursula decided to make her escape. Over the course of her childhood, she had battled her loneliness with her love of learning new things. She loved the idea of magic, and had been practicing for many years. She taught her self every spell she could, and was ready to stand up to her father.

Far away from the village, she discovered an empty cave. It was here that she finally settled down. As she sat in the cave, taking in what had just happened, her fear turned into anger. Something changed in the young princess. She decided that she was done being invisible. One day she would have her revenge on her father's horrible kingdom.
