Thomas Jefferson Coding Club
The Thomas Jefferson Coding Club fosters students’ creativity, reinforces computational thinking and promotes teamwork. Coding help students improve their problem solving and analytical skills as well as develop an understanding for the technology that is shaping our world today.

Students are learning basic computer science concepts as they explore and design algorithms to execute different tasks. Students will acquire knowledge about coding and robotics through hands-on activities.
During our first week, students explored the directional words, sequencing and retelling. Students collaborated and took turns as they programed Code-a-Pillar to go from the starting point to the end.

Watch how our students explored, discovered and learned about coding through play and teamwork.
Students created an algorithm to retell the story Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?
Students took turns being Brown Bear and testing their algorithm.
Students were introduced to Ozobot-Evo and learned how the robot worked. Students gave commands to Ozobot using OzoCodes, special markers, to draw different paths the robot would navigate.
