Where in the Rainforest?
Sloths live in the canopy layer of rainforests.
Size
Sloths can be 0.6 to 0.8 meters long and can weigh from 3.6 to 7.7 kilograms.
Lifespan
Sloths can live up to 20 years.
Diet
Sloths munch on leaves, twigs and buds. Because the animals don't have incisors, they trim down leaves by smacking their firm lips together. Sloths can survive on relatively little food.
Fun Fact
Without sloths there would be no avocados.
The extinct giant ground sloths were some of the only mammals that had digestive systems large enough to process the huge avocado seeds whole. They feasted on the fruit and then dispersed the seeds far and wide.
