Kayıhan (by the class of 2nd A in Institut Joan Solà, pupils from Torrefarrera & Rosselló)
A) Short description and comparison with our town. (Landscape - Buildings, Streets and Waste management - Communications - Basic services - Economy - Leisure and natural areas)
Kayihan is situated in the interior of Turkey, it's 259km from the capital of the country (Ankara). It has 2300 inhabitants. It’s smallest than Rosselló and the half of Torrefarrera. The time difference with Spain is 2 hours. It is a small village compared to ours. It is a drier village compared to ours. It is a fairly flat village. Maybe Torrefarrera is more colorful than Kayihan.
Kayihan is the village which we will describe. There are a lot of trees and a lot of houses. The colors of the trees are green, the roof tiles are orange, and a lot of houses are white.
Its landscape is usually dry. Nearby there are mountains and remains of high historical value.
The streets are small and long, not straight. Houses can be isolated or attached to others. Some streets are paved and others not.
BASIC SERVICES There is one school and one small Hospital. In this village there is a supermarket and other shops. They have a pavilion where they play football.
It is very quiet and there is not much tourism, this is what we like best. We also like the rocky landscape and it is a passing city to get to the capital. It is a good place to taste the original Turkish cuisine as there are some restaurants. There are also mosques for religious activities.
