When in our country come winter, we don't forgot our litlle friends - birds.

The group was visited by the children of the "Bitutės" (Little Bees) group who performed a play based on the fairy tale "Ropė" (Turnip).

Mother's Day is celebrated annually on the first Sunday of May. This holiday is known for Lithuanians since ancient times. On this day mothers are congratulated by their children and husbands who try to do all the household chores and present flowers. It is not a coincidence that Mother's Day is celebrated in the spring. Mother is identified with the Earth. As she raises her children the earth raises the yields. Mother’s day is one of the most beautiful holidays, celebrated during one of the most beautiful time of the year. On this day mothers can enjoy various events and concerts dedicated just for them.

The pedagogues, children, parents and grandparents of our kindergarten took part in the event Gilė 2017 (Acorn 2017) held by the Lithuanian Zoo. The event was taking place for its tenth year. During this annual event, oak acorns are collected to be used for animal feed and to provide activities for the animals. The oak acorn can be a very beneficial and calorie-rich supplement to the diets of most of the animals. It includes high-quality protein, various vitamins and minerals. Acorns are used to bring variety to the diets of bison, zebras, antelopes, goats, hippopotamuses, tapirs and other ungulates, monkeys, rodents and some birds. Acorns are introduced into the animal diets every year - they are a natural and beneficial supplement to their feed. The acorns, brought to the zoo each year by good-willed people, are also germinated, and their sprouts are used as the main feed for sick insects and the like, or as a supplement for other insects. If too many acorns get collected, they are shared with the birds, squirrels and other small wildlife that wanders into the zoo. These oak seeds are also planted or used as a decoration in some amphibian displays. On Monday, we meet up with Acorn the Rascal and Daddy Oak. We danced and frolicked, and romped around, and then we weighed the acorns that everybody collected. Our kindergarten ended up taking the whole of 318 kg of acorns to the Lithuanian Zoo! The animals were very happy!!!&nbsp;

Children from the preschool group "Pelėdžiukai" gave us a stick insect that we will continue to grow in our group.

Over the course of the day, we hug our children many times. But did you know that there is such a thing as an A-shaped hug? A bear hug? A Zen Buddhist hug, and many others, that the parents in our group have already tried out? The children enjoyed pasting little birds and decorating Easter eggs with wax together with their parents. The parents wrote the most beautiful words for their children on the wings of the little birds!&nbsp;

Lithuania Kaunas kindergarten "Spindulys" 2017-2018

We created this bear mask by cutting a circle out of a paper plate. Then we painted the paper plate brown. After that we added paper ears with some tape and a large craft stick... and then after a quick dry, the bear mask was ready for wearing.
