Coral Reef

Sea stars have suckers that help them move. They have spiny skin and 5 arms. They are l cm to 3 ft in size. They push their stomach out to eat. Arms are called rays and usually are in fives.

There are soft coral and hard coral. The coral live in warm water in groups.  They don't move and are stuck in a rock. Coral wait for animals to come to eat. They have one hole to eat and poo out.

Sea turtles go to the beach to lay 100 eggs in the sand. At night the 100 babies try to go to the sea but some of them get eaten.

Seahorses do have a backbone but it doesn't have ribs. Seahorses eat little floating animals and shrimp. Seahorses are slow swimmers. They live in a small area. They change color

A sea snake is a reptile. It has lungs. It breathes air. It lives in the sea. Sea snakes have nostrils that shut so no water can get in and it can stay underwater a long time.
