Depoe Bay is known as the smallest navigatable harbor. On March 11, 2011, the port was damaged by a tsunami  caused by an earthquake off the coast of Japan.

The cheese factory was made because the climate was right for raising dairy cows, it was made in 1850.

I think it is important to have a associations like the Audubon society because they care about nature. They protect the forest and the animals. It also had an animal hospital to help hurt animals and also look after animals that have been imprinted.

I think it is important to have citizen scientists because you can get more work done. You can get more work done because there are more citizens then scientists. So the scientists can just tell the citizens what to do. So basically they are free labour.

There is a tsunami machine in the visitors centre because they want to show how powerful a tsunami is. It was probably one of the university students protects.

Columbia River Maritime Museum Crossing the Bar Section

 No I would not want to cross the bar. I think crossing the bar would be too dangerous and I don’t want to die. Also I have heard of all the people that have died crossing the bar and that doesn’t make me want to cross the bar anymore.

It is important that smaller towns like Warrenton have attractions like this so they can make money through tourism.

Cannon Beach is most well known for Haystack Rock. It is sometimes called the third largest monolith in the world.

Fort Stevens is a military base. It has lots of batteries. Batteries are two or more artillery guns. Fort Steven was made for the civil war. They also never actually used their  weapons on anyone.

Hatfield Marine Science Center Speedy Science

Draw a picture of how you set up your experiment. 

For our experiment we wanted to find out which crabs where faster: female or male. So we had one female and two males. We thought that males would be faster. We put one on the track at a time  with a finger behind them so they would run and we timed them. It turns out that the females were faster.

I want to see a nudibranchs because I think there cool and colourful. It would also be cool to see one because they were mentioned in the book.

I’m looking forward to seeing this attraction because I think shipwrecks are pretty cool and I’ve also never seen one before.

Hatfield Marine Science Center R.O.V. Challenge

Our group solved the R.O.V. challenge by making a rectangle out of pvc pipes. We put all the motors on all different axis and the cord that powered them coming out the top so it was closest to the surface. With the engines all at different angles they provided push in all directions. In the tests and in the competition we came second twice and it broke once.

Columbia River Maritime Museum First Nations Section

The  First Nations that live there were part of a large tribal trade network. When the Europeans came they kind of disturbed that network. But now the First Nations are starting to revisit some of there old ways.

The Astoria Column is 125 feet tall and is covered on the outside by a mural that depicts earliest days of the northwest history 

When a sea lion barks it’s forehead gets bigger.

You can’t bring rocks home form Yaquinna Head because they are native to Yaquinna Head. They also want to keep it the way it is.
