Back in February 2020, a very serious virus came to China, without anyone knowing how. The people of this country didn't know its causes, so they didn't take the right protection measures. As a result, millions of people got sick. Step by step, the virus spread all over the world. Every single day, thousands of people were dying and way more were in hospital. Most countries got to quarantine.&nbsp; Suddenly, the father heard a weird sound. It was the sound of his twins that were sleeping. -Finally! He screamed. The twins woke up. -Continue the story dad; we want to know how it ended. They begged him. -Oh my dear kids, we are not even in the middle of the story yet. We just started. -Is it that long? said the boy. -Anyway, just continue, I can't wait! Exclaimed the girl. -Where was I? Oh yeah!

"Christmas with a little difference"

Molly and George are twins! They are so funny, beautiful and clever! Their father is a doctor and their mother is a nurse. We are in 2020 ten days before Christmas but something is different than the other years! One week ago they wrote a letter to Santa Claus but they weren’t so happy! Actually, they were sad and so nervous! A new pandemic, Covid 19 appeared in January and after that nothing is the same! Their parents aren’t happy but always sad or angry and now they can’t go to school, see their grandmother or their grandfather and of course they can’t go anywhere because there is a lockdown to protect themselves from the coronavirus! Three hours later their father came and he was sad as always! He was so tired so he ate and went to bed… Before he slept he told them to go to his bed because he wanted to tell them some things. Molly and George were a little bit nervous but when their father gave them a big hug everything seemed better! For an hour he told them&nbsp;a lot of things about the virus but suddenly, George asked, “Father how can we stop Covid 19?”&nbsp;

-So we got in quarantine and believe me it was a disaster. We were waiting for the Μinistry of Education to tell us the new measures but you are not going to believe what happened!!!!!! -Please, tell us! -Well, the shops, the hairdressers' and all the places that people gathered to had to close. -Even the schools? -Yes, even the schools! Except for the supermarkets of course. -Then how were you supposed to learn? -We were doing e-lessons every day and our eyes were hurting because of the long hours we spent on the computer. -Oh my god! Said the girl.&nbsp; -Exactly! It was the worst year ever! We spent&nbsp;three months in our house, three difficult and stressful months. But fortunately, in summer everything was easier&nbsp;and we&nbsp;had a nice summer. But in September&nbsp;everything got worse. That brings us to 13 of November 2020 when everything closed again.&nbsp;

”It all started back when Coronavirus was spreading all over the globe; we were forced to do online classes and not interact with anyone except our loved ones. Back then I was at your age so my mother was really worried about me. The cases were going higher and higher. Yet, the teachers would always find ways to cheer us and make us forget about the pandemic. ”Sounds terrifying” said the twins. “Did our grandma and grandpa survive?” “Yes, they did”. After the twins heard that they were really curious so they said “can you tell us more please?” . “Alright, the economy of most countries was in a bad condition but everyone helped each other. My friends and I would communicate via phones and we would play different games.” “How would you find food dad?” “Oh, in 2020 we would sign up papers similar to the ones we have today and write the reason we wanted to leave our house.&nbsp;

“We can wear a mask and keep safe!”, he replied. - But, can we make a vaccine? -Yes, a vaccine and with it we will stop the virus! -Oh, my dear, it’s not so easy! -Why? -Because, we now try to find a vaccine but it’s very difficult and we are not sure that we will find it soon! -But that’s terrible! How will Santa Claus give us the presents if he can’t travel because of the lockdown? -Ha, Ha, Ha! Santa is a special person and he knows what to do and he can travel! -Are you sure daddy? -Of course, my dear! -Can I say something, please? -Of course, sweetie! -I didn’t ask a present from Santa Claus..I asked for a vaccine for Covid and Health! -Me, too father! -You know something, little bears? -What, daddy? -I have the best kids in the world! And be sure, Santa will help us find the vaccine! -We love you so much, daddy! -Me, too you are the best!

“Can we still visit those websites?” “No, they got taken down by the owners of the websites a lot of years ago. My family and I would pray to god every day and hoped that the vaccine would come out as soon as possible. Except Coronavirus, a lot of positive things happened in 2020, like the PS5 was released to the public and many more.

”Dad can I ask you something?” ”Sure”. “You said that you would do online classes every day. Did you like that?” The dad said “In my opinion, the first days of online school were a really nice experience but as the time passed, it became a really painful experience. We would have a lot of connection issues, we would always &nbsp;have to sit on a chair and learn new things.” “Were you doing sports after school?” “No, I wasn’t doing my extracurricular activities but I exercised twice a day.”&nbsp;&nbsp; “How did you give your homework to your teacher?”&nbsp; “We would write our answers on an internet format and then send it to our teachers' emails. Also, about tests and exams, we would use different websites to write tests and everything that we had to learn. Although, the&nbsp;possibility of cheating became a lot easier, it still was an effective way of test taking for that time.”&nbsp;

Suddenly he woke up from a slightly ringing noise. Then everything disappeared. The next morning his children woke him up. - Daddy, daddy what happened last night? But he just said: -I was just thinking of something... Nothing special. -Can you at least tell us what you dreamed of? -All right. When I was at your age in 2020 coronavirus, a deadly pandemic, spread all over the world. -Hold on. Were&nbsp;you born back then? -Yes I was. It wasn’t that back as you think it is. -To fight the pandemic we had to quarantine. That meant that we had to stay inside.It was quite boring sometimes but we had to get used to it. -How long was the quarantine? -Well, the first one lasted for about three months. And the second one... well I don’t know yet, I am still in quarantine.

- Oh really, was&nbsp;he fine? -&nbsp;Yes he was fine. At first he was very scared but after 14 days he was alright.

30/11/2020 Today a second quarantine is starting because the cases&nbsp;are increasing. 12/12/2020 Today the mass vaccination in the UK&nbsp;started . 9/4/2021 The vaccine was successful, and now coronavirus has gone.

Once upon a time in the year 2060 in Christmas eve, Toby and Kate asked their dad to tell them a story about his childhood while they were waiting for Santa Claus. That's what he did. "When I was at your age, especially in the year 2020, something really bad happened and spreaded all over the world. The pandemic of corona virus. We were in quarantine for 6 months and we were not able to go out or see our friends. I was very sad because we spent Christmas inside and I spent my birthday in quarantine without my friends or relatives. Also when we were at home we were doing online lessons on webex. Online lessons were very tiring because we had to be in front of a computer screen for many hours. Also doing online lessons wasn’t the same as being at school.

At the beginning, we were really happy that we did online lessons but later we were really bored and we wanted the schools to open again. Lizzy said. -Me too, I would never have imagined myself saying that, but in this case we really wanted the schools to open again so that we could see our friends. Ok, children time to sleep. Dad said. - But how is this possible? Lizzy asked. - We were separated in two teams and we were going to school in rotation. Dad said.

-What about Christmas? Said the boy. -What can I say... it was the worst Christmas of my life! I could not spend time with my friends and we couldn't celebrate either. -So how did you get your presents? Asked the girl. -We could buy gifts online but there wasn't the same feeling. -We understand... it must have been awful. -It was... Now you must sleep. I will continue the story tomorrow... -This story never ends. Said the girl and the twins fell asleep. But after a few minutes they woke up again and started asking... -What happened next dad? When did the shops open? -Everything was closed until 2021 but in April the vaccine was found and we spent a normal Easter and a normal year finally. People were so happy they were celebrating for 2 months. - That is really an incredible story. Oh look we almost arrived!

Once upon a time, in the year 2060, a father and his twins, a boy and a girl were in a car and they were going to see their mother in Rome. &nbsp; Because the trip was long they had to eat and sleep in the car. They were not comfortable, so as a result, the twins couldn't fall asleep. Their father offered to tell them a story. After a lot of thought, he took the decision to tell them the story of the coronavirus. -What is it about dad? The kids asked. -This story talks about a pandemic in which people all over the world got sick and lots of them died too, said the father. -That sounds pretty awful and sad too... It was a cold Christmas night in the year 2060. A father was celebrating the event with his son and daughter. When they went to bed, the twins couldn’t sleep so they asked their father to tell them a story that would calm them. The father decided to tell them a story from his childhood. While he was narrating the story, the twins were asking a lot of questions like “how?” or “why?” and many more. The twins once asked "how was 2020 dad?" “We’ve heard a lot of rumors that a pandemic was going on.” Suddenly all the memories flooded back to his mind and he explained what happened.

15/9/20 Yesterday it was the first day at school. I decided to sit with my best friend Dimitris. It was a really hard day because we had to wear masks but it was better than online lessons for sure. 28/9/2020 This whole thing with the masks is starting to get annoying. The lessons aren’t going well because some kids pretend to feel unwell but this is just an excuse to leave class and go to the nurse. 1/10/20 &nbsp;Dimitris yesterday was having fever so he went for a COVID-19 test and we found out that he is coronavirus positive. Today I'm going for a covid -19 test too. 3/10/2020 Today the results came out. I was very anxious but luckily I was coronavirus negative. Later this morning I called Dimitris but he didn't answer...

The time reached midnight and then the&nbsp;twins suddenly felt tired and dizzy. The father put them to sleep and then he went slowly to the balcony. The countryside was beautiful from outside. The father would go to his balcony at night only when the day was more interesting than others just so he could feel the air passing through his body and relax. After he was sitting there for half an hour thinking about all the things that had happened, It felt like a reunion with himself. &nbsp;At the end he whispered: ”Time passes so quickly. Hopefully no other pandemic will ever happen so my children can lead a happy life.”

We couldn’t go out and play with our friends, so when the Christmas Holidays came, I wasn’t celebrating with my friends. -Did anyone died because of this virus? Asked the boy. -Of course, every day we had 100 people on average that died because of Covid-19. -Oh, that’s awful. -Yes, it is. -Dad, did you know about someone who got sick because of it? -No, I didn’t. One night in 2060 there were 2 twins Peter and Lizzy that were going to bed but they wanted to hear a story before they sleep. Their father agreed, went to the attic, took a big box and took it down to the kids. They said “read that book!” but the father said "that’s not a book it’s my diary from 2020..."

23/12/2019 Everyone is talking about a virus called coronavirus that started from China. We saw the people in China wearing masks and seemed funny. 10/2/20 Everyone is very anxious because of the coronavirus because the appropriate measures have not been taken, so the cases are rising. 12/3/20 Today the government announced that schools must close. Everyone is happy. It's time for a break! The online lessons are about to start.

At first we thought that it wasn’t something serious, but actually it was. The Pandemic was called Corona Virus. It quickly spread all around the world. All the schools were closed. The kids were unhappy. Then they started doing online lessons. After the summer holidays schools finally opened. The kids were happy again. But there’s more. It was compulsory to wear a mask. After two months the schools closed again. People spent Christmas at home alone. They couldn’t go out only for specific reasons and this by sending a message to the government. The schools opened by the new year and then… Oh! Are you sleeping?! Never mind more details tomorrow. Goodnight children...

Once upon a time in the year 2060, a family (father, mother, twins- a boy and a girl) were planning to pass the New Year’s Eve telling stories to each other. - Dad, it’s your turn now. Said the boy. -Ok, I’ll narrate you a story from my childhood. When I was exactly at your age, a pandemic called Covid-19 has locked us in our houses and we all wore masks everywhere except in our houses. Of course, only the supermarkets were opened. -Even the schools were closed? Asked the girl. -Yes, the schools were closed too. -Then how did you learn the things that you had to learn? -We had online lessons and online platforms to write tests. So, we were in front of a screen for 4 hours a day and we saw our homework from online platforms. But we didn’t stop to communicate with our friends. -But, how? -We used social media.
