Reflection 9: The Revelstoke Railway Museum 1. This place relates to the theme place, because it cannot be replicated because its a huge part of the CPR for carring goods 2. This place is historicly important because it was one of the first railstations in canada. 3. The night we stayed at the hotel we watched the live stream at the railway musium and in the morning we were on the live stream!

Photo 6: The Columbia Ice Field This photo of snow represents region because over time the cold atmosphere created this thick sheet of glacier ice. The other photo of the truck on the snow represents place because the location is now owned by the tour company.

Reflection 2: Rogers Pass 1. Rogers Pass connects to human environment interaction because they blew a hole in the mountain for the train to get through, this is historically significant because back then it was dangerous to be handling dynamite because it could just blow up unexpectedly. They would have had to use tons of dynamite. 2. Rogers Pass is historically significant because all it was a hard area for the train to get through but they managed to do it. They managed to do it by hiring hundreds of thousands of Chinese workers for 1$ a day. Back then for the Chinese that was very good pay. 3. We went to the museum and learned all about it and looked at sculptures of it and then we went and actually saw it! I thought that was very cool because I like learning about things and then seeing what they are like in real life, this was way bigger than I thought!

Photo 7: Moraine Lake This place represent the theme location because hundreds of thousands of tourists come through each year. Its a very popular destination.

Photo 3: Cave and Basin National Historic Site 

I think that when they found the hot springs people realized there was more than gold and many people started to crowd Alberta/Canada to look for hidden gems to make money off of. Theme 1: Movement, the water is moving and gradually wearing down the rock.

Reflection 8: The Golden Skybridge 1. This applies to location because the canyon swing there and it was the first in Canada and the biggest in Canada. There is also many other attractions, like the mountain coaster, the skybridge and the treetop playground 2. This is a very good spot for instagram photos. People come from all over the world to take photos on the roller coaster and the skybridge. 3. This was my first time going on a mountain coaster, IT WAS AWESOME!!!

Reflection 3: Cave and Basin National Historic Site 1. Region is connected to Cave and Basin because the water and very rare hot spring snails live there. A cool thing about the snails that live here, there species is almost extinct and we got to see them. 2. This place is historically significant because people were looking for gold but found the hot springs (liquid gold) and they made a swimming pool in it as a business. This was a very good idea at the time. It went on until the late 80s. Then they shut it down and made an artificial one so they could keep the snails alive 3. We went to Cave and Basin and learned about it and that connected me to it because it felt like I was in there time period. We leaned tons about the sulphur there, we alse learned that it reeked!

How Has Geography of The West Shaped Who We Are?

I think all the cool landscapes and awesome scenery bring tourists and those tourists buy things and that all shapes the west. I think that the CPR has a huge part in the west because that is how we get all our goods across the country. 

Reflection 5: Lake Minnewanka Boat Cruise 1. Location is at Lake Minewanka because there is a sunken town in the water. This is very cool because scuba divers go looking at it. This was also a WWII military town/landing. 2. Lake Miniwanka is historically significant because the dam was built by underpaid children in WWII. The dam protected the men at the landing/town so they wouldn&apos;t be flooded by water. However it still ended up flooding many years later creating the Lake Minnewanka that we know today. 3. We took a boat cruise and I learned about aspen trees. They are the largest organism in the world, because all their roots are connected, making them one. This affects them because if one dies, they all die. Aspen trees are mostly found in Canada however they are also in the USA and Mexico.

Reflection 1: The Last Spike Photo 1. The Last Spike uses the movment theme because the train moves through the last spike. 2. The Last Spike is a historically significant location because the last spike of the CPR was nailed there 3. I connect to the last spike because the CPR brings goods to North Vancouver This location is important because the last ever spike on the coronavirus was drilled here. This is important because millions of items every year are transported across this railway

Sebastian H, the author, grew up in North Vancouver, BC. He loves to mountain bike and hang out with his friends. He also went on a trip to Alberta, thats what this book is about! He was very excited about Moraine Lake. He doesnt enjoy school but he still goes and gets good grades. He also likes to fool around.

Reflection 6: The Columbia Ice Field 1. Region is at Columbia Ice Field because it&apos;s a protected area. Its protected because the ice is melting at a rapid rate and it soon will be gone. It would be gone even faster if it wasn&apos;t protected. 2. This place is historically significant because over 100 years ago they did the same tour on the ice, just more than double the ice was there. 3. I connect to this place because I feel special that I got the opportunity to see it before its gone.

Reflection 7: The Moraine Lake 1. This place represents region because its a national park and is a very cool place to visit, it also has larch trees (very yellow 2 weeks a year). These trees are not very common, only growing in a few places around canada *at a high amount*. 2. People go to Moraine Lake to get the perfect instagram pic on their canoe. I think its kind of sad people mostly go to this very beautiful location just for a picture. People should experience the moment and go on the awesome hikes. 3. I went to Moraine Lake and did a big hike and then saw the larch trees, a very nice shade of yellow. I also saw the lake which was awesome. This experience for me was the highlight of my trip.
