Herbie and the Brain

Like yesterday Herbie went home and informed his mom about the things he learned except today he went into his room and drew a picture of the brain to show the teacher.

At school the next morning The teacher gave Herbie and his classmates an assignment to tell her about the last part of the brain, what does it and what are the parts of it.

At night when he went to sleep he dreamed about the Marvel characters his teacher told him about.

In the presentation that Herbie's teacher presented to the class she read - Neurons are information messengers it determines whether or not the information should be passed along.

She told him he needs to know about the Thalamus and Hippocampus. The Thalamus is your body's information relay station. How Flash's body goes under pressure from running and it tells his body that.

After school, Herbie asked the teacher if he can stay after so he could read. In his book, Herbie saw a word in his book that he didn't know and it said "hindbrain" and asked what it was.

She told him about the Hippocampus and that it helps learning and memory. Like how supergirl has to memorize her script

She told him the only function was the Brain Stem. She told him it is the lower part of the brain that's connected to the spinal cord. Like how Captain America can hold his head up without it falling off.

When Herbie went home he told his mother he learned a lot about the brain that he didn't know.

The next day Herbies teacher told him she would tell him about the Midbrain

When Herbie went to bed he couldn't help but dream of all the new things he'd learn in school tomorrow and how smart he would sound to his friends 

She told him that the Hypothalamus means to keep your body in a stable state and told him to think about how Spiderman is able to stick to walls without falling

Herbie and Ally looked for the definition and wrote them down. The Axon is an electrical impulse from the neuron that travels away to be received by other neurons. The Myelin Sheath is an insulating layer or sheath that forms around nerves, including those in the brain and spinal cord. The Synapse is the site of transmission of electric nerve impulses between two nerve cells (neurons) or between a neuron and a gland or muscle cell (effector).

At school, the next day Ally and Herbie gave the homework to the teacher and got an A.

All day Herbie and Ally played in class because they were the only kids in the class who finished their homework so they got to go to recess first.

Herbie can finally go home and tell his mom he finished the lesson and tell his dad about all the things he learned

From then on Herbie liked to go to class with his friend Ally and study without interruptions

So Herbie asked what the Right hemisphere does.

She then told him about all the Lobe; he thought she meant the globe.

So she told him to think of when Thor throws his hammer to the left, The right hemisphere controls the left side of your body.

She told him the frontal lobes are responsible for problem-solving and judgment and motor function. The parietal lobes manage sensation, handwriting, and body position. The temporal lobes are involved with memory and hearing. The occipital lobes contain the brain's visual processing system

He then explained the 6 parts of the Neuron starting with the Dendrite. The Dendrite receives input from many other neurons and carries those signals to the cell body.

The teacher informed them that for homework she wanted them to find the definition of the Axon, Myelin Sheath, and Synapse.

The next student told the teacher about the Cell Body (Soma) which is the spherical part of a neuron that houses the nucleus

Herbie invited his friend Ally over to help him with the homework together. Herbie's mom and little brother made snacks for Herbie and his friend.

She taught him about Left Hemisphere which he didn't know the meaning of

His teacher gave him homework about the brain

She told him to think about when Iron man flys to the right, the Left Hemisphere controls the right side of your body
