Helen Adams Keller was an American writer, activist and lecturer. Helen was born on June 27, 1880, in Tascubia, Alabama.
She lost her hearing and sight 19 months after her birth.
Thanks to her teacher Anne Sullivan at the Boston Institute for the Blind, Helen began communicating years later.

Keller's story became famous from Keller's autobiography, "The Story of My Life", and from her adaptations into theater and film.

She was the first blind person who earn a Bachelor of Arts degree.

After her teacher’s death in 1936, Keller continued to lecture internationally with the support of other aides, and she became one of the world’s most-admired women. During World War II, she toured military hospitals bringing comfort to soldiers.
