Welcome to St Uny Church of England Academy! Our vision is to be a positive, loving school where children are equipped to live well with Jesus Christ and with others.

Vision & Values

All that we do at St Uny is underpinned by our Christian vision and values.

The Bible verse "Let your light shine before others", Matthew 5:16 inspires our holistic approach to education, where we help every pupil to find, develop and show their varied skills and talents, for the benefit of themselves and others.

At St Uny CE Academy we believe that our Early Years Foundation Stage is crucial to developing firm foundations to be built upon throughout our school journey and beyond. It is our intent that the children who enter our EYFS develop physically, verbally, emotionally, creatively, intellectually and spiritually whilst embedding a positive attitude to school and learning in order for each child to achieve their full potential. We set high expectations throughout all areas of school life and beyond. We believe that all children deserve to be valued as an individual and we are passionate in supporting all children to achieve their full, unique potential. Our Reception class follow the EYFS curriculum, which has seven main areas of learning.

Learning Together

"Tapestry keeps you in touch with your child’s day wherever you are"

Tapestry is an easy-to-use and secure online learning journal that helps staff and families across Aspire academies celebrate their children’s learning and development in Reception Class.

As parents, the first day of handing over your child to the care of another can be an emotional time. As your child adjusts to experiences without you at their childminder, nursery, or school, parents continue to want to share in these times.

Tapestry facilitates this by enabling a personal journal, or diary, to build over time. Photographs, videos and notes of special moments are not only recorded, but can be made available regularly and often immediately to you via your iPhone or Android App.

School Houses

At St Uny CE Academy pupils belong to one of our four school houses. Houses work collaboratively throughout the year to earn house points, compete together on sports day and take part in a range of house days designed to develop team work and collaboration skills.

Residential Trips

At St Uny CE Academy we believe school trips and residentials are incredibly important. Throughout the school year, classes take part in a range of trips linked to class topics. Pupils are also invited to attend school residential trips from Year 2 to Year 6 as outlined below:

Year 3 - Sleepover in school.
Year 4 – Two-night stay at Carnyorth Outdoor Education Centre.
Year 5 – Two-night stay visiting Bristol, Bath and Longleat.
Year 6 – Two-night stay in London. 

Extra-Curricular

Wraparound Care

Breakfast Club is run by school staff. Sessions can be booked in advance through the school office by email, phone call or in person. Although very popular, some places are also available at short notice on the day; again please check availability through the office. Breakfast Club runs from 7.45am until the start of the school day. Each session costs £2 (or £3 including breakfast).

After School Club is run by school staff. Sessions can be booked in advance through the school office by email, phone call or in person. Although very popular, some places are also available at short notice on the day; again please check availability through the office. Our After School Club runs from 3pm until 5pm each school evening. Each day children have a variety of planned activities to suit all primary ages.  Children will be given a snack and also collected from an extra-curricular club if they are attending that first. 
The cost is currently as follows: 
3.00pm - 4.15pm £4.00 (siblings £2.00)
3.00pm - 5.00pm £6.00 (siblings £3.00)

School Dinners

Our hot meals are cooked on site every day by our School Cook Kirsty and the kitchen team. We provide a range of hot and cold options every day to cater for different dietary requirements. You can find the latest school menu on our website as well as information about free school meals.
