Maker Space: Why should we have more maker space?

The first kid we talked to was Elise Casinghino. "I think that kids deserve more maker space as a normal special. Because then they can use there creativity in school other then just at home. This is important because then students can get together socially and to have fun. At maker space you are not just sitting around in a classroom, you're walking around and playing. You're also stretching your brain by making mistakes and learning from them. It's a big part of creativity to grow and we need more maker space time," says Elise happily.

We even talked to Mr. Grenham! "My goal is that the teachers can learn more about what they do in maker space. So they can bring the creativity into the classroom and make school more fun for the kids. I think it's a great idea to have more maker space time. It's just that we can't because of the time. But it's great to get kids to do more continuous growth in a fun way and maybe not even knowing they're doing it. Creativity is important to kids! We need to have more of it so that kids can tell their parents school is fun," shares Mr. Grenham.

Book review&#160; by Susannah Kemp

Guts is a new book by Raina Telgemeier, and many people are checking it out from the library. It is a book about how Raina's worries are making her sick. Her friends are changing rapidly and she has to face her fears and make new friends before middle school starts! Many kids are checking it out know hurry in before they all get checked out!

Newborn fawn in the hunt club!

There is not much to talk about for our news since the pandemic . But something is on our way... The end of the school year! Not a lot of exiting things asides from that but another fun thing or fact is that new baby deer fawns are being born at this time of year. A fawn is a baby deer and just a few days ago a fawn was born in the hunt club! I saw it curled up in the corner without any parent. That's because after a newborn deer is born, the mom deer needs to eat and regain her strength so she leaves the fawn alone in a little patch and that's what happened to this little fawn. Note: this was not zoomed in... photo was how close we actually got to it.

The next kid we talked to was Susie Kemp. "Kids deserve more time to express their creativity. Getting out of your comfort zone like math or writing is sometimes a good thing. I feel like having more chances to try different fun things can be inspiring to the students' minds. Being inspired can help kids focus. Let's say that the lesson was "express yourself." Kids might allow themselves to learn more all because of a quote," says Susie excitedly.

The last kid we talked to was Maddy Tetrault. "I feel like it's fun to have the option of maker space. It makes school more fun and less boring. It inspires kids to do things they never would have done before such as "Being Brave". It's a fun way to make kids express their creativity on their own. It can even make kids more social with each other," Maddy explains.

In 2016, we started a teacher group and we discussed: what do we want all adults and kids to live by?
