There was iron, copper, and coal in the ground. In the Middle Colonies there was lots of land. The summer was hot and horrid and the winter were very harsh. The Middle Colonies had a lot of woods unlike the New England colonies.

The Southern Colony is to loud with working slaves. New England is is still cutting down lumber. But come to the middle because you can be in the Quakers quiet place.

The New York Harbor was ideal for shipping and trading. Farming was easier in the Middle Colonies than the New England colonies. Farmers grew wheat, corn, vegetables, and tobacco.

The Dutch wanted to set up fur trading post. The British wanted more land and new trade routes. The Quakers wanted religious freedom.
