Teaching Philosophy:
“There is no end to education. It is not that you read a book, pass an examination, and finish your education. The whole of life, from the moment you are born to the moment you die, is a process of learning.” — Jiddu Krishnamurti. Someone said that every kid is one caring adult away from being a success story, and that is what I want to be. I want to be the kind of teacher that inspires kids to go after their dreams and become successful. Ignacio Estrada says that “If a child can’t learn the way we teach, maybe we should teach the way they learn.” This quote goes with my philosophy for teaching that all learners are unique and need to have a motivating and encouraging educational environment where they can grow physically, mentally, emotionally, and socially. It is important for learners to develop in these areas. It is my wish to be able to create this type of atmosphere where learners are able to meet their full potential. I am going to give them a safe environment where they are invited to share their ideas and take risks. I want to be able to assist the learners to express themselves and accept themselves for who they are, because accepting yourself is an important part of growing up, as well as embracing the differences of others, such as race and religion. Every classroom has their own unique identity, and so my role as the teacher will be to help each learner in developing their own potential and learning styles. I want to present a curriculum that will incorporate the different learning styles, as well to make the content they learn relevant to their live. I want to incorporate hands- on learning, projects, themes, and individual work that will engage and activate the learners learning. I believe that a classroom should be a safe, and caring community.
