Aiden's Plight

The Aiden family, a group of golden monkeys residing in Wuyi Mountain, has faced mounting challenges recently. The changing environment and the government's urban renewal plan have brought about increasing hardships in their daily lives. Food availability has diminished, and the once familiar tree, their cherished sleeping spot, has regrettably been felled.

One morning, while playing with his golden monkey companions in the forest, the young monkeys swing between the towering trees, filling the air with laughter and joy.
Suddenly, one little monkey exclaims, "Whoops!"

The tree where Little Monkey was perched came crashing down. As the towering tree toppled down, Aiden swiftly extended a helping hand to Little Monkey, guiding them to safety on another sturdy tree.

One Little Monkey voiced their concerns, "It's the humans and their machines again coming to chop down our trees. My mother told me that our forest will soon be destroyed, transformed into a human resort."
Another Little Monkey chimed in anxiously, "Then where will we live? What will happen to us?"
With a worried expression, one more Little Monkey added, "There are fewer and fewer delicious fruits now. Will they disappear altogether in the future?"
Feeling a sense of unease, Aiden reflected on the recent scarcity of palatable food at home. Worries filled their mind as they contemplated the uncertain future for their family. Determined to find answers, Aiden decided to return home and seek guidance from their parents.
Upon returning home, Aiden observed his parents sitting together, engrossed in a serious conversation. Before he could utter a word, a wave of concern washed over him. What could be the matter with his parents?

Aiden's Mother: Surviving in Wuyi Mountain has become increasingly difficult. With dwindling food sources, I have been considering joining my big cousin who lives in Lianhua Mountain, Gansu. What do you think?

Aiden: Mom, Dad, let me go. Mom needs to take care of my sister, and Dad has to find food. I am older now, and I can go and see my uncle.

The following day, armed with the map, Aiden embarked on the path to find their uncle, filled with determination and hope.

The aged drawings showcased faded lines as Aiden unfolded the weathered map, yet the route remained discernible.

Aiden: For the sake of my parents and sister, I must find my uncle!

Aiden leaped from one branch to another with agile movements, utilizing their strong arms to navigate through the forest canopy. Suddenly, a rustling sound and trembling limbs startled Aiden, prompting heightened awareness.

Aiden cautiously approached the source of the sound, leaping onto a nearby branch.
Aiden: Hey, Panda, what brings you here?
Panda: Who are you? Please don't bother me while I'm enjoying my bamboo leaves!
Aiden: I'm Aiden, a resident of Wuyi Mountain. I'm actually on my way to Gansu to find my uncle.
Panda: Oh? Are you headed to Gansu too? Well, a little monkey, I'll accompany you. I'm leading to Sichuan, where there are abundant bamboo forests. Maybe some kind-hearted humans will take me to the Giant Panda Base in Chengdu, and then I can live the rest of my life in peace.
Aiden: Why are you here in the forest?
Panda: You see, I got lost while searching for food. We pandas aren't as clever as your monkeys. Before I knew it, I ended up here. I couldn't find my way back home. A sparrow I met a few days ago told me that if I head south, I'll eventually reach Sichuan. Humans have been cutting down bamboo in my home, so I decided to make my way to Sichuan.
Aiden: It's quite a coincidence, Big Brother Panda. I will also join my uncle because there's no food left at my home. My family is hungry every day.

Aiden: I have a map, so let's embark on our journey together.
Panda: That sounds wonderful. Once I finish this mouthful of bamboo, we can set off. It's become increasingly challenging to find sufficient food. Bamboo nowadays is not as tasty as I had in my younger days. It's challenging and dry, merely enough to satisfy the hunger pangs.

After the panda finished devouring the last of the bamboo leaves in its grasp, the duo of Aiden and Panda continued their journey together.
As they ventured beyond Wuyi Mountain, Aiden and Panda arrived at a picturesque hill. The landscape here differed vastly from their previous surroundings. The mountains were not as towering, adorned with lush trees and meandering streams. The air resonated with the cheerful melodies of countless birds, creating a symphony of chirping and harmony.

In the depths of the serene and dense forest, a faint sound of rustling footsteps drew nearer. Aiden remained alert, scanning the surroundings for any signs of disturbance. Yet, to their surprise, nothing seemed out of the ordinary. Unbeknownst to them, piercing eyes remained fixed on their every move from behind a tree trunk.

Suddenly, with a swift motion, the owner of those eyes lunged toward Aiden. Fortunately, Aiden's innate agility as a monkey allowed them to deftly evade the attack, swiftly ascending to the safety of the nearest treetop. The clever panda sought refuge in a dense bush, skillfully concealing itself from detection.
