Pakistan is located in Asia. It has a population of 240 million people. The capital city is Islamabad . The most spoken languages in Pakistan are English and Urdu. The most common religions is Muslim.

Pakistan is surrounded by Iran to the west, Afghanistan to the northwest and to the north, China to the northeast and India to the southeast. In the south is Arabian sea witch makes a southern border.

Religion
There are two main religions in Pakistan.
Around 70% of Pakistan is Muslim and 30% of the country is Hindu.
Hinduism is rare in that it’s not a single religion but a mash up of many traditions and believes. Muslim is the very opposite in that it is very rigid and unforgiving. The word Islam means complete submission to the will of Allah.

Separation

Pakistan used to be a province of India.
The Muslims and Hindu’s were at war with each other and decided to split the country into two  countries which is now Pakistan and India.
August is the month that both countries celebrate independence from British rule.

Food

Pakoras.
crispy, fried fritters made from thinly sliced vegetables soaked and seasoned and fried in flour batter.

Kebabs
the most popular is the Seekh kebab which is ground meat grilled on skewers.

Tarka daal
A vegetable dish.

Paratha
A flatbread filled with any meat and/or vegetables.

Zarda
A brightly coloured sweet rice dish with sugar, milk, raisins and almonds.

Kashmiri pink chai
A hot pink tea.
