In this essay, we are expected to choose a community or town in which we must write an essay. We must describe how the community health system and all the wellness programs that the municipality and the major to better the community. The community that I have chosen is a town that am very much familiar with and that is no other than my hometown, Knysna.

In this essay, we are expected to choose a community or town in which we must write an essay. We must describe how the community health system and all the wellness programs that the municipality and the major to better the community. The community that I have chosen is a town that am very much familiar with and that is no other than my hometown, Knysna.

Knysna is one of the many small towns that are in the Southern District in the Western Cape near George. This town is known for its infamous views and spectacular hiking and camping sites. That is the reason why that Knysna is known as a nice retiring town. It is believed that the reason why it is known as a retirement town is simply that aren’t a lot of youth events like the neighboring towns. Therefore, most of the population is retired people and the children that are still studying at school. Don’t get me wrong that Knysna is not all sunshine and rainbows, there are problems, but they are only can be noticed if you are not a resident or local individual. The area that I will be focusing on will be the location known as Khaylethu.

The reason why I say this is simply because areas like Bogani, Nekkis, and Honglee have a lot of history and some breathtaking views. The only downfall of this town is that there is a lot of corruption and mistrust. That leads to the community not trusting the municipality, especially when it comes to Khaylethu. To some people, Khaylethu seems like a peaceful area and some low and middle-class people. To be honest, if you stay long enough you uncover the pain and cruelty of this area. what I mean by this is that Khaylethu has become a testing ground, even though most of the time it benefits the community but at other times it destroys the community.

Health promotion is when the government or health origination tries to bring health awareness to the country or the community. Most of the time the reason why the government does health promotions is would prevent an outbreak, same as Covid 19 outbreak.

1. The community gets united because now they feel that their leaders are taking care of them and not feeding their own selfish needs.
2. More job opportunities start to come up, this is because everyone has been given the same and equal opportunities no matter their financial status
3. The community economy status changes from being poor or unprivileged people to a well-established community
4. Health will increase and life expectancy will increase, and people will live longer.
