Spectable Bear Characteristics

➥ They has a black fur, his look like sunglasses by white fur (or similar) on his face.

➥ They are generally diurnal, peaceful, elusive and shy by humans.

➥ Height: 1.5-2m
➥ Weight 140-175kg
➥ Males are up to 50% larger than females.

HABITAT

➥ Bears migrate between forests and moorlands in search of ripe fruits and the soft parts of the leaves of certain plants. Mountainous areas spanning the entire altitudinal range, from cloud forest to paramo, provide ideal habitat for these animals.

DIET

➥ They have an omnivorous diet, although they are fairly specialized in fruit and different parts of several plants. When ripe fruit is not available, bears live off fibrous parts of plants such as bromeliad hearts, soft parts of palms, orchid bulbs and even tree bark

➥ This bear is constantly threatened due to changes in territory use, which has fragmented its habitat size, as well as hunting by humans.

What I can do?

➥ I can do regarding this issue, from the perspective of a minor, is to create awareness through social networks and try to carry out some kind of campaign to protect the Andean forests.

➥ If we continue "attacking" their habitat, they would become extinct in Ecuador.

➥ Spectacled bears was died by Ecuadorians who are unaware of these stupid acts.

➥ If raising funds, we would help them protect their habitat.
