Christmas Decorations
The whole family decorates the house together and children help their mother make honey macaroons and curabies, our traditional christmas sweets. Our favorite custom is the Christmas Tree decoration that takes place in every house and school in our country.
On 1st January's morning, children can't wait to open their presents. A few days earlier each child either at school or at home writes a letter in Santa, asking him for a special gift. Santa and his elves comes every New Year's Eve late night and let the presents under the Christmas Tree.
In Greece the Christmas dinner consists
of turkey in the oven with cashew, pine nuts stuffing and potatoes. At the Christmas table there are also kourabiedes and
melomakarona, our traditional christmas sweets.

In addition to the traditional turkey in Greece, there is the custom of Kotosoupa, delicious cabbage dumplings, delicious and wonderful sausages and also spit-roasted pigs. There is also the traditional Christopsomos, which changes from region to region in Greece, but its classic version is a large round bread decorated with embossed dough shapes.
