I can’t wait to see the wolves at Wolf Haven because they have been rescued and are being taken care of by my advertising company!! I also happen to love wolves. I find them to be so patient and beautiful.

This is a video of the camo section at Cabelas. I’m amused rewatching this video. As someone who doesn’t generally see or wear camo I found coming across this to be very funny.

The Astoria Column, built in 1926, is a 125 foot tall tower and is covered on the outside by a frieze that depicts significant parts of Oregon’s history including Lewis and Clarks expedition.

At fort Stevens I learned so much about the history of the fort and the operating of their historical machinery. I didn’t know that when using their cannons, people would place a bullet onto a cart and wheel it to the mechanism they used to haul the bullets up a floor where they then loaded them. The gun powder used for the cannon was stored in silk bags so there was no risk of sparks flying. Moving onto my the historical information, I learned that fort Stevens is the only place in America to be attacked during WW2. June 1942, a submarine came with in proximity of the fort, thankfully no bombs made contact with the fort. Though soldiers were adamant about retaliation, as they hadn’t had a chance to make use of their training to fight in the war, their captain stopped them from fighting back. I believe this was a wise decision as the submarine was departing and didn’t specifically know the location of the fort. Retaliating would’ve jeopardized the safety of his soldiers and the land they protected. 

Ps. There were reenactores that showed us how to shoot this really interesting gun. A few classmates and I got to fake shoot the gun.
