When Maui was born his mother cut her hair and raped him up. after he was wrapped in the hair he was thrown in the water and drifted away in the ocean. When he made it to land Maui was still alive in the hair and all of the sea birds and crabs wanted to eat the hair thinking it was food. His uncle saw him on the sand and ran over to unwrap him safely. His uncle took him and raised him as his own. His uncle didn't know that Maui was his nephew. His uncle told Maui all about the stories and learnt how to change into animals. Maui wanted to see his mum since he didn't know about her. he traveled and saw his mum with his brothers. He saw his mum and they gave each other a hongi.
