Learning Advance 2022

I am not Doing PLP next year or ever but if I were to go on another trip, I would go to bed earlier but that is basically all I learnt👍

For this activity, all the grade 8s were supposed to throw a ball around the gym only using eye contact, no words. This was working on our communication core competency because we had to learn how to communicate in different ways. It was also a bit difficult because we added in a challenge to only use one hand. This was a really fun way to practice team work and there was no work or stress involved which was really nice and relaxing. I think that small activities like this is a really good way to connect and practice different core competencies. Good job Mr. Harris!

Today we got to do my favourite activity yet. We got to play battle archery! I have done battle archery before but today I think that I got really good at shooting and aiming my bow and arrows! I loved this activity soooo much and now if there is ever a zombie invasion, I can save myself if I have arrows!  

Today, we got to play forest laser tag. While doing this our team worked really hard to include the communication core competency. When we were attacking the other team, we were trying to be very strategic to be able to catch them off guard. To do this we had to talk to each other and make sure that we understand what is going on. Laser tag was so fun and it is a pretty good way to build core competencies in a fun way.

I already kind of new this from before but it was by far the most interesting thing we did. We made a fort in the woods! I used to be in scouts so I did this a lot and I even had to sleep over night in one once. This is a useful skill becasue if I ever need to sleep in one for survival purposes, I wont die! Yay!

One place I found amazingly beautiful so far at Loon Lake is the lake because it is so calm that it looks like glass.

During Loon Lake, my DI team decided to really focus in on our script. Susan and I added a bit to the script to make it longer. After, the rest of our team rehearsed it a couple of times. We also decided more times for us to meet up and make more deliverables. We have already made a lot but Jackson and Owen havent finished the visual effect or costume of the mysterious object yet.

This is an amazing photo of Ruby doing a star jump in mid air. This was for our action shot that we had to take during our photo walk. This is an amazing photo because it looks sick.

I am hoping that we do this becasue it would be AWESOME. We would get to shoot people/things with arrows (with foam on it). Who wouldn’t want to do that. Unfortunately I dont think we are going to do it becasue it is school or whatever.

Team works helps with DI, projects and just being a better person in general. Although it can be exhausting at times it is important and a useful skill throughout our lives.

My name is Naomi, I am 14 years old. I am a competitive swimmer which basically means that the only thing I have time for in my life is swimming. My best strokes are breaststroke and freestyle but my coach says I’m good at butterfly. My goal is to get a medal in provincials and to make it to westerns and nationals.
