Every week, the school recycles paper and waste from the school

We make, a <a href="https://twitter.com/i/status/1230928078752428034">sustainable carnival</a>, because the costumes were made with sustainable garbage bags made of paper, not plastic. We went to the main square and read an <a href="http://centrosostenible.blogspot.com/2020/03/en-quel-carnaval-sin-plastico-y-hacia.html">Environmental Manifesto</a>

In the near future we have some proposals to improve the environment. One of our ideas has been to send an e-mail to the mayor to put bins around the green banks of the river in order to keep the river cleaner.

Now we are going to explain what we have done in the in the river: We did a <a href="https://sostenibilidadsaenztejada.blogspot.com/2021/02/este-ano-aprenderemos-los-ods-en-ingles.html">gymkana </a>and one of the activities was to find this garbage

We started some years ago to become aware of climate change and these are some actions we took

In this year, we changed the light system, because we wanted to save electricity.

We put a push tap of water, because, before, children left the water running. This was our daily water consumption... Horrible!!!

We celebrate the environment day

We have celebrated the environment day in the Sáenz de Tejada with the action agreed in the Confint La Rioja. Each class made some posters and although time did not allow us to go down to the whole school to see them, the students read the manifesto and showed the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) in all the classes.

We measure the weekly waste... and we learn Maths with it.

On Friday, April 27, we celebrated the School Confint. We review the actions we have carried out in the last year and what we have done so far in these three years. Here are some of the moments.

In this project we are doing: In this year we changed the lights system for light sensors and we measured the consumption, it was a big difference!! When it detects movement, it turns on and when it does not detect anything it turns off and thus we save energy. And they are not on all day.

- We asked for bins in our river banks - We made a river study with riu.net This is the result - We contact the town hall and the association http://amigosdelosrios.com/ (Rivers' friends) - We asked for parking bicycles at school to avoid using cars - We made a list of flora and fauna of the river (thinglink)

With that video, we won a prize, 400€ that we invested in snack tuppers. Circular economy!!!

THIS IS THE SNACK HOLDER WE BOUGHT TO REDUCE PLASTICS IN LUNCH TIME, SO, EVERYBODY HAS A REUSABLE TUPPER AND THERE ISN'T ANY WASTE ON THE PLAYGROUND. THEREFORE, WE EAT HEALTHIER FOOD.
