Journey to Ellis Island

The kissing post was where you would go to to meet you relatives because when you take exams you are separated from your family. The kissing post is a wooden gate.

We meet at the kissing post when we did all the exams and questions.

 To get to the registry room you had to walk up the stairs.

The registry room sounded loud and scary, it was also big too.

In the registry room you had to sign papers <br/>and answer questions from the officers.

The baggage room is where people get their bags checked.

My bag was purple and it had a "G" on it<br/>and my little sisters was green and had a "C" on it.

The people were check by doctors because the doctors were checking for crusty red eyes and yellow fever and others.

If the immigrants were to sick they would go to a hospital, but me and my sister were fine.

If they had red crusty eyes then the would write an E on there back like this.

Hi, my name is Greta and my little sister is named Chloe. We are going to Ellis island to go to America. I and my family come from Ireland.

When we first got on the boat everyone got a little sick. 

The people at the bottom of the boat were very sick.

There were 3 levels, the 1st level was were all the people who had more money. The 2nd level was were  people had some money. The 3rd level was where people had a bit of money.

It took about 6 months to get there. When we got there we saw a big green lady! Then we went to the baggage room.
