Hi my name is Sara and I majored in composition! The first piece I wrote is called The Elephant in the Room and the second is called The Lucky Escape. I minored in music technology and in the second semester wrote a piece for Spraoi called Magpie.

The last few years have been amazing, I've met some great people who I know will be friends for life. I couldn't of asked for anyone better to spend my final year with.

Grateful for all the musical knowledge, confidence and friends I've developed over the years, Gonna live life like jazz, improv from day to day, hope too one day do a masters in music technology, love fiddling around with tech making wierd sounds and playing jazz, will continue until to do so until god strikes me down.

Hi my name is Jill Devlin! I majored in performance and minored in composition.

In 2019 I was lucky enough to receive the Bridget Doolan Memorial Award alongside my classmate and friend Toni Doran.

Thank you to everyone in W.I.T who made this experience so memorable. I have grown so much as a person and musician over the past four years. Most importantly I have made friends for life.

The Irish Traditional Music Society was re-established during my time in W.I.T, and hopefully it will still remain for years to come. One of my favorite experiences with the society was having a masterclass with two members of the band Fourth Moon.

In September I will be heading off to do a Masters in Irish Traditional Music Performance in the University of Limerick.

May Music Season Finale: New Beginning be the best running season of them all ;)

Honestly the last four years have been tough, but the best four years of my life (so far). It's made me really appreciate music and all it has to offer but more importantly I met the greatest people along the way. From canteen banter to learning from some of the most intelligent and talented people I've ever met. Even though I am leaving as a student, I will always proudly represent myself as having come from the music course of W.I.T. Now out in to the big bad world lads. Wish me luck!

Hi my name is Toni Doran. I am in my final year of BA (Hons) Music Degree. I specialised in major performance and minor composition. My experience in Waterford has been amazing. I have made some great friends for life.

In 2019 &amp; 2020 I was awarded a recognition award from WIT's Vikings Sports &amp; Societies.

Irish Traditional Music Society

The Irish Traditional Music Society was re-installed in 2019. Fourth Moon visted us and gave us a masterclass.

My plans for the future is to study primary education. I also hope to open a music school in my area. This course has given me great opportunities and experiences over the last four years. Thank you to all the lecturers for their hard work and commitment over the four years.

Dear Music at W.I.T. The last four years have been full of fun moments, moments of bonding and some pretty cool moments. My college experience in WIT can't be defined by the work I handed up or pieces I played in my eyes. It was the snapshots of time that changed me into the man I became. Music at W.I.T. really did afford me many opportunities and facilities, but my classmates highlight them so excellently so I wanted to use this space to commemorate the journey I took and enjoy these three pictures representing only a fraction of the many moments over the last few years. Hi everyone! We're the 4th years of the BA (Hons) Music course. The past four years have been filled with fun and laughter. Although we are sad we don't get to experience the typical 'we finished college' celebrations, we have truly enjoyed our time at W.I.T. and appreciate all the work everyone has done during these strange times. This yearbook is a showcase of all our hard work, our time on the course and the fun times we've had as a class group. Enjoy!

Hi! My name is Doireann and I'm a final year student in the music course in W.I.T

I did a major in composition and a minor in dissertation. My instrument was viola but we don't talk about that...

My four years on the course has been unreal. I've gotten so many skills which allowed me to take up awesome opportunities. I'm so grateful for the course in that I've made so many close friends and also that I took my love of music to a higher level.

As for future plans, I'm hoping to do a masters in composition as well as teaching in a music school or even open up one myself, wherever I land in the world. Here is my final composition:

My experience at W.it has been a rollercoaster. I started the course in 2013 and after a couple of years out I decided that music is what I really wanted to do.

Hi, my name is Ciara Conefery and I'm in my 4th year of Music at W.I.T. For my final year I decided to major in Composition and minor in Dissertation. Growing up, my primary school was very influenced by music and I was playing by the age of 4. I've been playing classical music all my life but I decided to take a new path in college and learn jazz. Still trying to get my head around it.

I'm delighted I came back to finish my degree, the community we have in the music course is like no other. I've made so many friends and memories over the last few years. As of now, I'm not sure what the future holds for me yet. I hope to travel for a couple of years and eventually pursue a career in music. W.I.T its been a long one but a good one.

I picked up the guitar three years before starting the music course. Between the aural and writing skills, history, music tech and classical guitar, I really enjoyed everything about studying here.

I'm so thankful to have been around such talented people. The music community here is strong and supportive.

The final year has been eventful. I started my first steps in a music career with a teaching job and singing in Brass &amp; Co. I've wrote a dissertation and finished my classical guitar studies (for now). I'm glad to take a break now. No plans for a masters at the minute, just want to keep doing what I love now; teaching and playing music.

During my time at WIT I've made some absolutely amazing memories. From wasting my time in the canteen with my friends to attending lectures on the history of The Beatles and Jazz! I never could have dreamt what I would do and study in this course but it exceeded my expectations and I'm so grateful to have experienced it. 

Hey there! My name is Megan Furlong and I majored in Performance and minored in Composition. Here’s my semester two piece called Links Journey, inspired by the video game The Legend of Zelda!

I'm not quite sure what I'm going to do in the future, the plan as of now is to eventually open up my own school but we will see how it goes! For the more immediate future (once this bloody lockdown in lifted) I just want to get back into performing in musicals :)
