Once upon a time, there once lived a young prince, his skin was pale like the bright fluffy clouds above. His hair, black as onyx and his eyes green as emeralds. All his life he was raised and surrounded by siblings and parents dedicated to the art of war. That’s how their kingdom survived and what they thought was the only way to survive. But this little prince was not interested in warfare, rather he loved art. Often in his lessons when he was taught the history of previous battles, he looked not at the taxed or paid attention to the lessons. No rather he looked at the pictures.
The oil paintings that remained. His mother renowned artists of the past from centuries ago. But not only oil paintings, but there are also many kinds. One that not even I know of a time long since passed. There was one painting, that caught his attention. They forever shaped the kind of man that he wanted to be.
It was an image of two men on opposite sides of a table and a treaty in between them and surrounding them was a crowd of generals, commoners, and their family a royalty. This contract was a peace treaty. It was a beautiful thing, no violence but all around them was the beautiful green tall grass gently caressing their calves. The sun shone brightly overhead like an angelic beacon.
And the waves beyond the shore on the cliffside that float ever so slowly. The blue of its depths contrasted by the seafoam. If you pay close attention, you could see a little boy and his dog running along with the shore collecting shells. This is the man he wanted to be. A peace bringer. From this point on, he sought out above all else.
Not only that, the prince inquired about the teachings of certain instructors that his parents never made him aware of. Diplomats and emissaries of his house came and met with him deep in the night, teaching him the ways of coercion and deception and the art of peace talking to reduce strain or hostilities of others with just a word. In time he was able to more unsavory sorts of charlatans. Even an assassin, the king’s personal one, he learned a great many things, the cruelties of his father.
