Malala’s extraordinary "journey"
Malala Yousafzai was born in Pakistan on the 12th July 1997. Like her mother, Toor Pekai, Malala had the privilege to go to school. So she had a good life, but when she turned eleven, everything changed. 2007 the Taliban’s got the reign over Pakistan. They wanted a high religious Pakistan where the girls are not allowed to go to school, too. Because of that, one day there came a "Mufti"  to her school. His opinion about the many girls in her class was: "The school, at which Ziauddin Yousafzai practiced, is haram, it disagrees with the Islam." Because of that he wanted to close the school. Malala couldn´t understand such opinions. Why shouldn´t girls go to school, too? Why do the Taliban’s still think: "Women wear Burka and be at home and the men only could go to the holy war."?
The majority of western people didn´t know something about the problems in Pakistan.
So the TV-channel BBC started a blog about oppression of women in Pakistan.
This was the start of Malala’s popularity. Then she wrote the article for these blogs and she did this at the spectacular age of eleven. She shortly explained what the Taliban did to the people and this for ten weeks. She talked about suicide, fear and sadness but mostly about the injustice for girls.
She raised her voice for every girl in Pakistan who couldn´t because of fear. She was so brave as to also give interviews in TV-shows, even at the risk to get injured by the Taliban. Unfortunately exactly that happened. Obviously this wasn´t what the Taliban wanted. So she was a problem in their eyes when talking too much. Because of that, they searched for her and attacked Malala in a bus in 2012 where they shot at the girl, who only was 15 years old.
Thankfully she survived. Moreover this shock did not stop her. She still fighting for those who have no voice. She is still promotes women rights. Also in these days in 2024 at the age of 27.
