Geography Geographers use maps and globes to measure and describe Earth. Geographers use maps to see natural and human-made features and to understand patterns. Geography Maps have changed over time to reflect people's increasing understanding of the world.

A map is an abstract representation of a selected set of features on or related to the surface of the Earth. The map reduces these selected Earth features to points, lines, and areas, using a number of visual resources such as size, shape, value, texture or pattern, color, orientation, and shape.

Maps and Globes helps you learn much about a country, including information about its landforms, bodies of water, natural resources and climate. A major part of geography concerns the technical aspects of map construction.
