Snowboarding 

<strong>The snowboard was invented on Christmas day in 1965 in Michigan. The first snowboard that was invented was called snurfer. People created the sport because they wanted a new activity in winter. </strong>

In the U.S Jamie Anderson won a gold medal in Womens Snowboard Slopestyle . She is a very competitive snowboarder and was excited to win the gold medal !

Surfers and skateboarders soon became involved in snowboarding , and soon it  became a nationwide sport . Competition is the next step , so the United States  held its first national championship in 1982 . They also hosted the first World Championships in 1983 .
