Rosa had a brief meeting with the professor, which was very strange. Then Sonny drove her to her host family. Rosa found the landscape dreamlike until they drove past a factory. Rosa didn't like the factory so close to the beach and then she noticed a nasty smell. We were right about it, but it turns out later.

The biggest problem is plastic waste in the oceans. Every year around 4.8 to 12.7 million tons of plastic waste end up in the oceans. That doesn't just sound bad, it's bad. The marine animals die in agony because they think the plastic is food. They become wrapped in it and are no longer able to swim. They are poisoned by the ingredients. There are already around 86 million tons of plastic waste in the oceans, a large part of which has sunk to the seabed and is destroying the ecosystem there.

As you can see in the video, there are ways to prevent marine pollution. We can and we should all do something. So let's get started !!!

There are three types of plankton. Bacterial plankton, phytoplankton and zooplankton. All three types have different shapes and sizes. Bioluminescence is the term used to describe the generation of light by living beings. The bioluminescence on the sea surface is mainly produced by tiny, single-celled algae, the "dinoflagellates". The microscopic algae are held there by the ocean current.

When she got to the host family, she met Bull. He took her to her room and let her rest. At night she woke up and walked down the beach to the car company. She stood in front of the fence and watched something. It turned out that Mako, Bull's son, is spying there, he thinks the car company is polluting the sea. Mako and Rosa exchange ideas and try to convict the car company.

It's a compelling story that takes place in Midnight Bay. The main characters are Rosa and Mako

I liked the book because it was an exciting story and was written in a nutshell. I especially liked the chapter with the dive and when Rosa explained who it was. The book reminds me of the books "The three ???". The book is for everyone!

Rosa comes from England, she is an exchange student and has travelled to California. She was picked up by Sonny from the airport. Sonny leaves it to Rosa whether she wants to get to know the professor or her exchange family first. She chooses the professor, so they are on their way to Midnight Bay.

When a certain type of plankton is put under stress, such as movement in water, they respond by glowing. Of course, the whole thing also has a meaning: The plankton wants to defend itself with the glow, because what glows in nature is usually dangerous or poisonous.

That should be preserved and protected!

Rosa thinks Midnight Bay is much more exciting than Bristol.

Bull wrote a message to Mako that he wanted to sell the hotel to Zorro Cars. Mako and Rosa took the jet ski to Zorro Cars to stop Bull. At Zorro Cars they were stopped when they entered. There was a conversation where it was revealed that Mako was right. Rosa found out - based on a few clues - that Sandra and Sonny were to blame for the pollution. The sherif arrested them. Bull, Mako and Rosa left Zorro cars for a party on the beach. Don Montero and the professor talked about how to clean up the beach and water.

When they arrived at the boat, they climbed in. When he got home, Mako was angry because he was sure that Zorro Cars polluted the sea.

Rosa had a strange encounter with a seal at sea. That convinced Rosa to support Mako's plans. They dived to a shipwreck that was very dangerous. Mako took some underwater pictures, then they noticed a blinking light. Fish came up to them, they had to emerge. But they couldn't do that as quickly, as they wanted.
