Chinchillas can be shades of beige,silver,black, light pink,violet,tan,and even sapphire.some may also have mixed colors. They also have a 3-6 in. tail and are 9-15 incheslong.

Chinchillas are amazing jumpers they can jump 6ft.high. They also like to borrow into tiny crevices where bigger animals can’t go.they also live in groups called herds.

Full grown males are typically smaller than females,but their all usually around 9-15 inches long and 2-4 pounds.Pets are larger than wild ones.Chinchillas have been around for 41 million years.

Wild chinchillas live in the rocky Andes mountains of Chile.

In the wild chinchillas eat leaves,fruits,seeds,and small insects. Pet chinchillas also eat hay,grasses,leaves,and food pellets.
