Realize that computational thinking is not the same as knowing how to program, it does not necessarily have to be just related to information technology and does not depend on computers or any specific technology (just like mathematics does not depend on a calculating machine). Computational thinking depends on the mobilization of a set of skills to interpret and manipulate information, make decisions and solve problems, which are essential in the information age in which we live.

Docenti coinvolti: Miriam Buttafuoco&nbsp;&nbsp;classe 1ca Responsabile stesura del progetto: Rita Ogliari “I Discover Myself in Vocabulary” è un progetto che ha coinvolto diverse scuole italiane insieme a scuole della Turchia con l’obiettivo di far arricchire la conoscenza lessicale degli alunni, poiché spesso per loro è difficile acquisirlo se non hanno opportunità di utilizzarlo in contesti quotidiani. Il percorso è stato incluso nella programmazione annuale&nbsp;e&nbsp;ha permesso agli alunni di sviluppare le abilità comunicative in lingua inglese, ma anche di acquisire alcune delle competenze chiave come Comunicazione multilingue, Competenza digitale, Imparare ad imparare, Competenze sociali&nbsp;e&nbsp;civiche, Senso di iniziativa&nbsp;e&nbsp;intraprendenza, Consapevolezza ed espressione culturale. Numerose le attività svolte che hanno visto i ragazzi lavorare in piccoli gruppi, in classe o con i partner, secondo le strategie del Cooperative learning&nbsp;e&nbsp;del Team-working. Interessanti i prodotti collaborativi realizzati (storia, un libretto&nbsp;e&nbsp;un dialogo) con l’uso di app così come le occasioni di interazione organizzate (videoconferenza, chat), in pieno spirito&nbsp;eTwinning, che si rilevano dall’analisi del TwinSpace. Questo è ben organizzato in pagine&nbsp;e&nbsp;sottopagine che consentono una visione completa del percorso fatto. In un prossimo progetto, si consiglia di concordare con i partner&nbsp;e&nbsp;condividere del materiale relativo alla protezione dei dati personali&nbsp;e&nbsp;i diritti d’autore, ma anche di caricare foto/video che attestino la disseminazione (es. link del sito della scuola, angolo&nbsp;eTwinning&nbsp;in classe).&nbsp;&nbsp;

Excellent job Italian students!!! You got compliments from all the teachers present in the videoconference!!!

Too often people tend to blame our indifferent society, but in doing that we forget that ‘we are society’. This is a short but intense make-change-happen project. The students will work in transnational teams using Arduino, single-board microcontrollers and microcontroller kits for building digital devices which can interact with the environment using sensors and actuators. As for the SDGs, the ‘they-don’t-apply-to-me’ mentality will be overcome by the understanding that not only governments or multinationals have to be involved, but each single individual has an important role to play.

Dissemination on local press.&nbsp;Hopefully all the best practices and results of the project can be used by other students and classes as a reference point. Thanks to all those who collaborated with creativity, who are ready to take action to build a better school where the wellbeing of students and teachers is considered as vital.

We had the chance to&nbsp;celebrate etwinning Day&nbsp;with our younger friends of Rita Levi Montalcini Middle School. We shared ideas about this year's theme:&nbsp;Disinformation. It was also the opportunity to show the activities of our project&nbsp;"Te@ch with Tech"&nbsp;and to learn something about their interesting project&nbsp;"Fake News".

An eTwinning Plus project to celebrate the diversity of European languages and the European Day of Languages. We want to illustrate the fact that languages are used to create and to communicate. We want to show our children that languages can be written in different shapes: stories, letters, newspaper articles... and should be spoken with the appropriate tone according to the situation. Bedtime stories are important in children's lives because they allow them to develop their affectivity, their attention and their will to read and write as this new generation sometimes called "generation Alpha' interacts little through reading and writing, especially by hand and tend to be isolated and solitary, they are more technologically connected. Let's show them we can both master sophisticated tech devices and use our hands and our soul to create and tell wonderful stories!

“Living Democracy” is an educational project, which aims at promoting democracy and education for democracy in our schools. Schools should not be seen only as institutions where students learn notions and hard skills but also as environments where they can socialize. Our project's key idea is that Education for Democracy should teach students to take an active role both at school and in their everyday life. Schools can teach students to be future citizens who believe in democratic values.

A Speech Which Can Reach - Progetto organizzato bene in fase di pianificazione e molto ben strutturato all'interno della piattaforma, dove si evince chiaramente il lavoro di tutti i membri. Ottimi gli output collaborativi realizzati in gruppi di alunni. La collaborazione tra docenti e ragazzi è stata facilitata da un buon uso di strumenti online che hanno senza dubbio amplificato l'impatto generale delle attività. Disseminazione delle attività ottima e originale. Metodologia didattica varia e innovativa con il debate.

Males and females have to behave, present, speak, dress according to a given set of ideas because every society and culture has gender role expectations. Gender stereotypes cause unequal and unfair treatment. Even if gender equality is a fundamental human right, women and girls around the world can’t fully experience equal rights and fundamental freedoms. Let’s turn our gaze to those women who refuse to be ‘shut up’ in unfair women’s roles and decide to express their potential as change-agents in the arts, education, STEM, sports, society... (We took inspiration from a line written by the American poet Emily Dickinson).

<a href="https://sustainabledevelopment.un.org/post2015/transformingourworld">The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development</a> was&nbsp;adopted by all United Nations Member States in 2015. At its heart are the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which are an urgent call for action by all countries - developed and developing - in a global partnership.&nbsp; This project aims at engaging students on SDGs to take action in order to make the world a better place to live. They will share ideas online with local and other European schools, they will find out what to do in their local communities and schools to support the achievement of SDGs. They will share ideas and outputs related to the project in their own languages or in English.

Activities which are done in classroom may sometimes seem weird to the students. They use foreign language in class but it never gives authentic motion to the students. By doing getting to know each other activities with our partners we aim to give our students opportunity to use foreign language efficiently.

Ben impostata l'attività di PBL che si fonda su una Driving question molto motivante per gli alunni. Vi è una programmazione condivisa basata su obiettivi specifici&nbsp;e&nbsp;chiari che pongono gli alunni in un ruolo attivo al centro del processo d'apprendimento. L'approccio multidisciplinare permette lo sviluppo di temi curricolari in sistemi&nbsp;e&nbsp;reti, informatica&nbsp;e&nbsp;inglese. Risulta evidente il rapporto tra competenze, abilità&nbsp;e&nbsp;le attività proposte. L'aspetto della collaborazione è quello più eclatante del progetto. I docenti condividono il percorso attraverso incontri periodici di confronto. Gli alunni, malgrado siano abili utilizzatori della rete&nbsp;e&nbsp;conoscano mezzi più immediati per la comunicazione nei gruppi, utilizzano i forum nei rispettivi gruppi internazionali&nbsp;e&nbsp;si aiutano reciprocamente nel comodo helpdesk. Gli alunni usano le TIC in modo creativo. Il TwinSpace è ben organizzato&nbsp;e&nbsp;di facile navigazione.&nbsp;Altro elemento positivo è la condivisione dei lavori durante il "Virtual Arduino Day" del 4 giugno con valutazione fra pari. Discreta la diffusione tramite Twitter&nbsp;e&nbsp;un articolo su stampa online locale&nbsp;anche se questo progetto meriterebbe sicuramente spazio sulla pagina web di Istituto. Docenti&nbsp;e&nbsp;alunni meritano il&nbsp;Quality&nbsp;Label.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Sharing our traditions means to show who we are and what we believe in, that means our identity. Knowing other people's traditions means coming into contact with other cultures.&nbsp;

Commento all'assegnazione del Quality Label "They shut me up in prose" è un ottimo progetto molto originale che mira a combattere le stereotipie&nbsp;e&nbsp;le discriminazioni di genere partendo dall'analisi di un testo poetico della Dickinson&nbsp;e&nbsp;dalla conoscenza di personaggi femminili che hanno dato un contributo significativo a questo grazie al loro esempio&nbsp;e&nbsp;alle loro vite. Il progetto denota la partecipazione attiva degli studenti che, dopo aver analizzato&nbsp;e&nbsp;commentato la poesia, hanno espresso il loro vissuto&nbsp;e&nbsp;le loro emozioni scrivendo poemi&nbsp;personali. Buona la collaborazione tra i partner nella predisposizione delle pagine, dei materiali&nbsp;e&nbsp;dei video prodotti.&nbsp;La valutazione&nbsp;e&nbsp;la disseminazione sono state condotte a fine progetto anche attraverso il contributo attivo degli studenti. The project aims at helping students to understand that each of us belongs to a larger ecosystem, and that we must be responsible toward our environment. We can have a future only if we are ready to embrace the challenge of being environmental citizens and make changes in our daily lives. Which are the rights and responsibilities of the earth citizens? We can’t avoid searching for the answer to this question if we want to make a difference and protect the planet.

Technology is a valuable tool for improving the teaching process at school because creates a new learning environment, more attractive and enjoyable for students. The educational process will turn them from passive recipients into creators of information and knowledge.During the project, students will implement their new skills, develop the spirit of cooperation and responsibility, produce themselves materials and participate in activities, feeling the joy of creativity. The aim of this project will be focused to exchange information about teaching experience among teachers. We will motivate our students to learn using IT tools and enhance communicative competencies. The main goal of the project is to improve communication and collaboration between schools, involving teachers and students in new learning activities. We will work with students aged between 12 and 17.

The students prepared a presentation of local personalities - a world famous journalist, a hilarious stand up comedian, an incomparable luthier, a Baroque painter, a&nbsp;clever mathematician and the great personality our school is named after, that is Galileo Galilei. Through web quests and on the ground interviews (some local personalities are still alive) the students prepared a series of presentations using Powerpoint, Powtoon, Thinglink, Genial.ly, Padlet and were proud to show in a very creative way what they have learnt about these personalities. They had also the chance to learn something from other countries' personalities. The project ended with an activity of edutainment in the class through a Skype videoconference in which the students of IIS Galileo Galilei, Crema and Collège Pierre Fouché, Ile sur Tet met and shared the information of the project and talked about their own biography!

"Te@ch with Tech" è un progetto che ha condotto gli studenti della scuola secondaria ad integrare il digitale nella didattica e a riflettere su alcuni temi quali la disinformazione e l'impatto del digitale sulla salute fisica e mentale. L'integrazione nel curricolo di inglese e di educazione civica e la trasversalità delle ICT hanno permesso il conseguimento degli obiettivi e lo sviluppo delle competenze. La docente e gli alunni hanno collaborato attivamente alla realizzazione delprogetto e contribuito alla qualità delle attività. Diverse le strategie collaborative applicate e le modalità di comunicazione interne ed esterne al TwinSpace.Gli alunni hanno creativamente utilizzato i tool per la costruzione della conoscenza. Diversi i prodotti collaborativi come eBook, Logo, Presentazioni. Molto interessante lo sviluppo di lesson plan, utili anche nella disseminazione. Viene definito un patto relativo all'uso consapevole e rispettoso delle risorse online. Il TwinSpace riporta non solo i risultati della valutazione del progetto, ma anche un'analisi degli stessi a cura degli alunni, cosa molto innovativa ed educativa. Complimenti ai docenti e agli alunni per aver anche coinvolto l'intera scuola grazie alla realizzazione del sito e alla condivisione delle lezioni sviluppate dagli studenti.

The main aim of this project is to promote the cultural heritage of each country in relation to the common European culture and values. As “AmbassadEUrs” of their country, the students will seek and highlight the most important aspects of their country's culture. At the same time, they will explore aspects of history and everyday life that reflect important European values. They will also look for common cohesive links between the cultural heritage of their countries and common European culture. They will be involved in collaborative communication activities referring to the project both in national and transnational groups.

Il TwinSpace è stato utilizzato attivamente durante il progetto dai docenti&nbsp;e&nbsp;dagli alunni (che ad esempio hanno comunicato molto tramite forum), sia come luogo di cooperazione che come strumento di documentazione. La valutazione è presente&nbsp;e&nbsp;ben organizzata.&nbsp;La chiusura delle&nbsp;scuole non ha consentito la disseminazione in presenza&nbsp;e&nbsp;partecipata che il progetto avrebbe meritato&nbsp;e&nbsp;che si auspica venga fatta al rientro. Comunque, complimenti a docenti&nbsp;e&nbsp;ragazzi per il lavoro svolto!&nbsp;&nbsp;

Citizenship Prize 2021

Learning new words is a painful process while trying to acquire new language. As an obvious fact, students have difficulty in gainining vocabulary while learning English. To overcome this problem students will focus on the words which are on preparation class curriculum. Besides, throughout the year, in every single unit our students confront great amount of new words in English. we will deal with with new words making them easy, enjoyable and relaxing for our students to learn. This project is based on learning process of English in one aspect.

"European Bedtime Stories! EDL 2019- Progetto nato per festeggiare la Giornata Europea delle Lingue a cui hanno aderito molti partner, uniti nell'ascolto, lettura&nbsp;e&nbsp;scrittura di "storie della buonanotte". La docente ha coinvolto con una classe quarta di secondaria di secondo grado, quando le altre classi partner erano di scuola primaria o secondaria di primo grado; questo non ha impedito agli alunni di partecipare grazie ad una rimodulazione delle attività proposte adattandole all'età dei ragazzi; le attività hanno permesso agli alunni di utilizzare l'inglese come lingua straniera in modo attivo&nbsp;e&nbsp;creativo tramite lo storytelling&nbsp;e&nbsp;la scrittura collaborativa. Parte delle attività sono state svolte in parallelo dai vari partner, in altre gli alunni hanno partecipato ai gruppi misti transnazionali."
