The Game That Took Me to a Another World

Hi my name is River Herman I am 15 and I am quite normal. I go to school I also live with my parents and I have pretty average grades. I also play games with my friends, not that I have much, and it is really fun. Most of my friends I haven’t meet them in the real world but we get along well. Oh I forgot to tell you I live in Tokyo, Japan the city is huge and there is a lot of places to visit in Japan there so many I haven’t been to them all yet. Also my best friend I haven’t him or at least I think it is a him well anyway I haven’t meet him in the real world, his gamer tag is “QuarterPorter”.

I think it is a Harry Potter joke but I don’t get it. My gamer tag might be cheesy but I couldn’t think of anything, mine is “TheMightyRiver”. I have asked what was the reason behind the name he always dodges the question same with where he lives. I mean it is understandable for him to not tell me where he lives but the reason behind the name he could share that with me. Also one thing that confuses me is that he never knows what is going on in the news like nothing there are things that have been happening world wide right now and he doesn’t know about a thing. That really confuses me and I have to figure out why he doesn’t know what is going on in the world and where he lives.

If I figure out where he lives I might be able to tell why he doesn’t know. So when I get home from school I will get online and ask some questions. “River!” Yelled my teacher .

“Yes?” I said in a very confused tone.

“Are you listening to anything I am saying?”

“No, sorry I was lost in thought.”

“Well you better start listening then because you will be have a test in a few days.” Said my teacher in a very concerned tone. My teacher has always looked out for me she is very kind and I have been zoning out more than usual and I think she is noticing it too. I think she is worried for me because my grades are slipping and I am doing worse on my tests. So for the rest of school I tried to pay attention to what she was saying. When I got home I went straight to the computer and went to go see if he was on.

If I figure out where he lives I might be able to tell why he doesn’t know. So when I get home from school I will get online and ask some questions. “River!” Yelled my teacher .

When I went on I saw he was on I started to message him. “Hey how are you?” “I’m good, how about you?” “I’m good, why weren’t you on for the last few days?” “Oh sorry I was working on a game for fun and I didn’t want any distractions.” “Oh, did you finish it or are you still working on it?” “I’m still working on it but you can beta test it if you want.” “Really I can? That would be amazing!” “Ya I jus need to send you the file that it is on.” “Ok” File received name is “To Another World”. “What is with the name?” “Oh I couldn’t think of a better name and that is what basically happens in the game.” “Oh ok that makes sense.” “I’m going to go try out the game now ttyl.”

I get out of the chat room and open the file that he gave me. When I opened it sound flooded my room it was very loud to the point where I had to almost turn off the sound to where it wasn’t piercing my ears. After I got the sound down my mother barged into my room and yelled “What was that noise!”

She looked like she just woke up from a year nap her hair was all knotted and she was in her pajamas and her eyes were barely open. “Sorry that was my game.” I said politely

“Well try not to make it that loud again please.” She said in a quiet and tired voice.

“Ok will do.” After that she left the room and went to what sounded like her room. Once she was gone I went to my room’s door and closed it quietly. Then I went back to my computer and looked at the screen. When I looked at the screen I saw the title screen and because of the loud sound I didn’t get a good look. The art was really it looked like it was anime the shading was great and the character design was amazing. After looking at it in aw I went back onto the chatroom and I noticed that I have a message form QuarterPorter and he was still on.

I get out of the chat room and open the file that he gave me. The message was “Be careful the title screen music is really loud. :P” Then I responded after reading that. “Ya I learned that the hard way my mom yelled at me for it being to loud. :(” “oh and did you do the art yourself because it is really good.” “ Ya I did thanks for the compliment lots of people say I can draw good so I wanted to see if it worked in a game setting and it did so I am happy.” “Wow ok ttyl going to play the game now.” “Bye”

When I closed the chatroom I went straight back to the game. When I got onto the game it was in the same place that I left it. After admiring the title screen some more I clicked the new game button. Then something weird happened the screen started to warp. It felt like I was being pulled in but nothing in my was looked like it was being pulled in. After a little bit it was like a black hole but it was only pulling me in then it finally pulled it me after a while of me trying to not be pulled in.

When I was pulled in I was expecting to be dead but when I opened my eyes I was on the floor of what looked like a bedroom. I sat up after a while being stunned that I wasn’t dead and noticed it looked like a girls room not much different form the girls in Tokyo though. When I got on my feet the door opened a girl walked in and didn’t looked to startled like she was expecting this. I turned out to be more startled than she was. The girl was kinda small she had brown hair and eyes her clothing is like something you would see in Tokyo. The first thing she said to me was “Hi”.

“Hi? Who are you?”

“My name is Abbi but you will know me as QuarterPorter.”

“Wait you’re a girl?!” I said very confused.

When I was pulled in I was expecting to be dead but when I opened my eyes I was on the floor of what looked like a bedroom. “Wait you’re a girl?!” I said very confused.

All of the sudden the building started to shake mercilessly. Then it stoped just as fast as it came. “Was that a earthquake?”

“I have no idea.”After she said that we both looked out of the widow. If we knew what we would see we wouldn’t have looked. We saw people getting murdered buildings on fire and at the head of it all was one person. He was the one who was killing everyone. Head hard to make out but I could tell that he was small strong and fast. I turned around and looked at her, her face was pale and expression was scared she was so traumatized by what she saw. “Do you have a sword any where?” I said with a concerned tone.

She didn’t say anything she just shook her head a pointed to what looked like a katana. I have take kendo classes back in Tokyo. So I picked up the sword and unsheathed it it was a bit heavier than the kendo sword I was used to but thus will have to do. After unsheathing they sword I run outside blade in had ready to fight the man. As soon as I reached outside the man slashed me with his sword and it was so fast and unexpected it hit me.

I felt like I was dying I could feel my life draining from my body. All of the sudden I felt hands on my stomach and I started to fell pain and every nerve in my body started to work again I opened my eyes to see Abbi looking at me crying I didn’t understand why but I felt bad. “Are you ok?”

“No I’m not my parents died when I was younger and to see my only friend die would make me break!” She said trying to hold back her tears.

“Ok I promise not to die than will that be ok?” After I said that she shook her head and I got onto my feet. I walked toward the guy and yelled “I challenge you to a duel!” The man turned around and looks at me with grin on his face. And says “I accept” we get into position and get ready we start.

He starts with a rush of attacks and I parry them all. He continues to attack quickly while I am parry them all waiting for the best moment to attack. Then he slashes harder and harder with each slash he started to get mad. With one parry I knock him off balance and slash his chest down to his waist diagonally and he fell to the floor. And with that I had one the duel and I told him one thing “Leave this town and never come back!” I had saved the town And I felt good then I remembered all of the people who died in his onslaught.

Once I stoped thinking about the onslaught I went back to Abbi. “Hey are you ok?”
