For one, I like going on walks so watching birds on a nature walk would be fun. Then two I like animals so learning about them would be very intresting.

I think we might learn about birds because last time I went on a school trip like this we did lots of nature walks and looked at all the birds in the trees. We will be in a forest full of wild life so we will probably study them. Loading...
Learning Advance Day 1
I took this photo while we went on our photo walk. I like this photo because its spaced out well and looks pretty. I love how the trail turns in the photo but the people are centred.
The Loon Lake Property
One place I found amazingly beautiful so far at Loon Lake is the Panabode centre. I think its very beautiful because it looks like a fancy old cabin.

Day 1, reflection
Today was kind of a rocky start. It could have gone way worse but it also could have gone better. The bus ride here was fun and didn’t feel too long. It was a little chaotic but that was to be expected. Once we arrived at loon lake we immediately started our trip with a walk. We were sent to go on a walk and take photos of certain things we had a list of. During the walk we got put into groups and partners but I don’t think we stayed with our assigned people, a lot of people grouped with other people along the way. Also on our walk we had to cross a floating dock along the lake. We would get around ten people on the dock then pull a rope that was connected to a pulley. It would slowly move us across the lake and then the next group would have to pull the dock back. It was very fun for me but I got pretty wet while pulling the rope. Then after the walk we played a game trying to find little notes around the camp site. Finally after exploring the site we got to get our luggage and find our cabins. A lot of people I know were disappointed in the groups they got but I think everyone settled down eventually. I didn’t get any of the people I wanted to be in a cabin with but I’m actually okay with my group. I like the people I got and I think we work well together. Then after we got into our cabin groups we went down to the gym. We did some quick easy group games in the gym and then it was finally dinner time. We all found our way to the mess hall and started pouring in fast. It was a little bit confusing to understand what food we were supposed to take and what others were supposed to take but we behaved well and got our food. After lunch we had a long break which I had a lot of fun at. In the girls cabin the people upstairs all hung out in the lounge together. We talked, did push up contests, did gymnastics, and a few other things. After the break we had evening fun, which I agreed was quite fun. There was a few options for us to do and I chose board games. A good amount of people were there and we played music. We didn’t get to finish the game but it was very fun. After that we had advisory groups in the room across from the board game room. We didn’t do much other then writing nice notes for each other, sharing our mood, and choosing a name for our group. We chose the name by all going around saying our favourite animal then naming the group what kind of animal we all agreed on. A lot of people said dogs and I said wolf. I said dogs are technically wolves so we should choose wolves. But a few other people chose fish and jellyfish. So we decided to combine the two and cal our group ‘The Wolfafishes” which I think is a great name. After advisory it was time for wind down. Wind down was getting ready for bed and a little free time. It went pretty smoothly and everyone was getting ready for bed pretty fast. Until some information spread around the Cabin. One person got sick and it stressed out a lot of people. Luckily the problem was solved and not much happened after that. At 10:30 it was lights out and we were told to go to bed. It was a little loud for the first hour but people started falling asleep eventually. I had a hard time falling asleep but after listening to some music it was fine.
Learning Advance Day 2
In this photo we were in wild and immersive. We learned about how to build shelters where to build them. One thing I learned that I didn’t know before was what different kinds of shelters are called (A-frame, lean-to, and tipi). The knowledge we learned I think could really help us if we were in a emergency situation. For example we get lost in a forest and need to stay the night, we now know where and how to build a good shelter. The major thing I realized was that it is hard to get a shelter up even if you think you have a lot of time. Next time I would like to work faster with my group to get it done faster.
