During the ninth month, the fetus is fully developed and ready for birth.

 During the third month, the fetus develops more human-like features such as nails, fingerprints, and eyelashes. Bones begin to harden, the nervous system develops further, and reproductive organs form. The fetus also begins to move, though the mother cannot feel it yet. By the end of the third month, the fetus is about 7.6 cm long.

 In the fifth month, the fetus continues to grow and develop. Eyes open and the fetus can detect light. Blood cells begin to be produced in the liver and bones. The fetus also starts to have sleep and wake patterns. By the end of the fifth month, the fetus is about 23 cm long.

 During the sixth month, the fetus continues to grow and develop. Lungs begin to produce surfactant, a substance needed for breathing. The fetus also starts to respond to external sounds, such as the mother's voice. By the end of the sixth month, the fetus is about 30 cm long.

During the first month, the embryo begins to develop the major body systems such as the nervous, cardiovascular, and respiratory systems. The head, spinal cord, and limbs also begin to form. At the end of the first month, the embryo is about 1.2 cm long and is considered a fetus.

 In the second month, the fetus continues to develop its organs and systems. Limbs begin to take shape, the eyes and ears move into their correct position, and the tongue forms. Sexual organs also form, though they are not yet visible on an ultrasound. By the end of the second month, the fetus is about 3.2 cm long.

 During the eighth month, the fetus gains weight and fat, which helps regulate its body temperature after birth. The fetus also continues to mature its lungs and other organs. By the end of the eighth month, the fetus is about 45 cm long.

In the seventh month, the fetus continues to mature its organs and systems, especially the lungs. The fetus can also open and close its eyes and has more control over its movements. By the end of the seventh month, the fetus is about 38 cm long.

During the fourth month, the fetus begins to develop hair and eyebrows, and nails grow longer. The fetus also starts producing amniotic fluid and can swallow it. On an ultrasound, sexual organs are visible and the fetus's sex can be determined. By the end of the fourth month, the fetus is about 14 cm long.
