Newton class have enjoyed their week of ‘shapes’ in Maths. They worked collaboratively together to sort the 2D shapes thinking about the shape names and their properties.

Oh my goodness! What a busy week it has been for Trevithick class. We went on a fantastic trip to PKPortcurno on Monday to launch our new topic ‘Bright Spark’, have been exploring electricity by making series circuits in Science and DT. We finished the week with a workshop on Cornish mining, learning all about our favourite innovator Richard Trevithick - so good, they should definitely name a class after him (!) Thank you to @PKPorthcurno and @Heritage_Trust for really engaging us and bringing learning alive, from ‘The most Cornish class in Cornwall’

The children in Year 1 have had a great start to their 'Superheroes' topic with visits from some 'Superheroes Without Capes'. &nbsp;So far Jess and Steph the veterinary nurses have enthralled them with discussions about red pandas, lions, and snakes. The children have loved hearing about how they help people and their pets!

Berners-Lee class enjoyed learning a variety of dribbling skills during our first basketball lesson this term.

Reporting Absences If your child is going to be absent from school due to illness, then please inform the office before 9.00am in the morning, and let us know why your child is going to be absent, and when you expect them to return. You may either phone the office on 01637 829298 and leave a message or alternatively send an email to hello@nansledanschool.org When reporting an absence, please leave a message on each day of your child's absence, telling us: - Your child's name -&nbsp;Class name/Year group - Why they are absent (Type of illness e.g sickness, migraine) - When you expect them to return Classroom doors open at 8.35am 8.35am to 8.45am registers are open 8.45am - 9.00am are coded as late but authorised Any lates after 9.00am are coded are unauthorised. Children who do not arrive via the classroom door at this time will need to enter via the school office and will receive a late mark.

Year 2 children have been continuing their learning linked to last weeks Space Dome visit. Anning Class thoroughly enjoyed that start of their ‘gymnastics’ work in PE. We have been learning to use slow controlled movements into, and out of a roll to develop a sequence of movements with a partner.

"Tapestry keeps you in touch with your child’s day wherever you are"

Tapestry is an easy-to-use and secure online learning journal that helps staff and families across Aspire academies celebrate their children’s learning and development in Reception Class. As parents, the first day of handing over your child to the care of another can be an emotional time. As your child adjusts to experiences without you at their childminder, nursery, or school, parents continue to want to share in these times. Tapestry facilitates this by enabling a personal journal, or diary, to build over time. Photographs, videos and notes of special moments are not only recorded, but can be made available regularly and often immediately to you via your iPhone or Android App.

Google Classroom - Enhancing connections with learners from school, from home, or on the go.

Think of Google Classroom as your child’s digital link to learning. Teachers use Google Classroom to share resources, links and assignments with pupils during lessons at school across the curriculum. KS2 teachers will use Google Classroom to share homework with students and parents. It is a great tool for keeping up to date with your child’s learning.

What a great start to the Spring Term we have had in Fleming Class. &nbsp;We had lots of fun starting our 'Colour Splash' topic in art.&nbsp; We learned about warm and cool colours and used watercolours to create a lovely 2024 calendar.
